Old-wives tale meaning????

Does anyone know what old folks use to believe about cracking an egg and finding a bloody yolk?  I know it means that the egg was fertilized,   It seems like my grandmother used to say there was going to be an illness or death int tthe family.  Has anyone ever heard of this.  I was just trying to get some protein in.....  LOL.  :)

My grandmother used to say it was the sign that someone in the family was going to miscarry.  But this is also the same woman (who I love dearly RIP), that said don't give kids too much eggs to eat because it will make them frisky .

Your grandmother might be right about the friskiness. Heard eggs pack a good dose of estrogens. Lol.

I'm from the south and I heard of alot of folks tails but this is the first..I'm going to have to call my mother in law and check on this lol

LOL.  Well, please let me know what she says.  A Nigerian friend scared me by saying it meant a blood relative was gonna pass.
