Lapband was my first choose but after talking to my surgeon and seeing how much weight I needed to lose I started out for a different search and came across Vertical Gastric Sleeve and I love my sleeve. But whatever surgery you chose make sure its good for you and your lifestyle..If you have any questions about any of the procedures don't hesitate to ask. Good luck

I have the band.  We worked well together for about three years then I had a complication.  My problem really can't be blamed on my band.  This is the reason, I lost my insurance so was unable to go back to the surgeon's office for needed investigation, Upper GI, Fills and such.  When I was able, I had to get totally unfilled.  I need to go in for wmall fills to get me back to a fill that gives balanced restriction but can't afford the visits.  Not sure now if its me or the bands not working properly due to a slip or something.  When I get financially stable again, if there is such a thing, I will get my band checked out thoroughly.
The band is not for snackers, I promised my surgeon I would give up the habit but have fallen back into the habit.  I should have listened to him and gotten the sleeve but its too late for shoulda, woulda, coulda.  I must work with what I have.
I lost 90 lbs and have kept more than half of it off.  I do enjoy the band and hope to have it and myself in good working order soon.
Take care,
Z

I have not seen any of the long term sussesful banders on this forum for some time now.  Two were featured in an issue of oh magazine awhile back.  I don't know if past articles are available on this site but it is worth a search.  Fingers crossed, a few are lurking and will reply.
