Just thinking and trying to be prepared

I'm natural with very thick hair (not sure if that matters), 8 weeks out, and no loss so far. In fact, I used to shed my hair really bad BEFORE surgery, now it's pretty much nothing.
My bestie has locs, is over a year out with the VSG and didn't lose hair either (or it just wasn't noticeable). His dreads have gotten so long!!!!

Hey love, my hair didn't fall out become thinner or anything. To be honest I was hoping it would, my hair has always been thick I have a big head and its much easier for me to wear sew ins, which I've been doing for years. It helps protect your hair from heat and gives it a chance to grow and rest. The better quality the sew in itself and hair the longer it'll last. Its an investment and can get pricey but its soo worth it. Hope I helped you in some way

I was concerned about the same thing even though I wear my hair natural like 1HauteDiva. I have been doing a bit of research. Hair is made of keratin which is protein. To strengthen your hair, you can use a mask or conditioner made of protein. Using eggs are an inexpensive and common product used to treat damaged and weak hair. I also was able to find a recipe using protein powder. Check out this link for the recipe.
Hope this helps.
