EASY PEASY AND TO DIE FOR.... made in the blink of an eye.... want to have pancakes for b-fast or whenever steering away from the carb monster?

I made this for breakfast this morning ... easy peasy and TASTY   ... LOADED WITH PROTEIN AND BY MY CALCULATION LESS THAN 200 CALS FOR 28G OF PROTEIN ....

IN A BOWL MIX 1 Scoop Vanilla or unflavored protein powder .. (banana flavored works well too... can get creative with any flavors really)..
Add one egg (can use egg whites only or eggbeater if preferred)
Add small amount of water ... about 1/8 or a cup or less keep mixture thick
Add cinnamon
Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Add pinch of baking powder
Add sweetener of choice MIX
Spray hot skillet

Pour mixture in portioned off to make 2-3 pancakes or 1 large pancake Brown on one side ... flip.. brown the next... (sometimes I cheat and stick skillet in top broiler to brown top a bit before flipping)

Top with SF syrup of choice or use no syrup at all ....

Mine was topped with blueberries the other day and this morning I topped it with fresh strawberries...

NOM NOM NOM .... TO DIE FOR ... hmmmmmmmmm hit the spot this morning and I am sooooooooooooooooooooo full still .. on one pancake out of 2 made.... DELISH!!!! will have another mid morning to get the full benefit of all the protein ...

Enjoying my journey one.day.at a time.... This is me on my way to work this morning ...after enjoying my yummy breakfast .... soooooooooooo full my nose is running LOL...

Condolences for your uncle's passing.

I can vouch for this recipe as I have been making it myself since I started searching for the taste of carbs without the carbs.  Not that awesome MsMartita's recipes need vouching for!

I go light on the egg of egg beaters (1/2), reduce the protein powder (1/4 scoop) add flax meal (1 tbp) for a whole wheat type flavor.  Walden Farms ZERO calorie/ carb pancake syrup and smart balance light ans OMG.  Carb breakfast flavor without the carbs.

The one ingredient I would MOST definitely not cut out is protein...  1 scoop of protein powder at 140 cals and 20g of protein plus the add protein 8g in the eggs renders me 28g of much needed protein ... the aminoacids in the protein are much needed for my muscles .. WOOT ... total win and awesome flavor...

Pancakes can also be made with cottage cheese/eggs or whatever other ingredients one wants to get creative with ... I shoot for high protein all the time.... STUFFED BAKED CHICKEN BREAST TONIGHT WRAPPED IN FOIL AND BAKED IN ITS OWN JUICES ... WOOT! ....

Don't know about your dietary requirements hermanita but my goal is 80 to 100g of protein daily ... this old lady runs almost every day LOL... gimme my protein please ... I do not like nor crave carbs and they certainly do not like me and I am happy with that ...

See you on Tuesday for early B-fast....

I don't need so much protein in a single meal anymore.  I like to keep my calories and protein spread evenly throghout the day.  It helps to raise my energy levels and enhance my metabolism throughout the day.

My base protein requirement (weight in lbs/ 2.2) is around 70g.  Dropping the protein powder and halving the eggs leaves about 21g protein before the flax seed if I use it.  With four to five feedings a day, I easily get 80-100g in protein for the day.

I am sticking to 3 meals a day as much as I can and 99% of the time I do ... works perfectly for my line of business ... whatever works WORK IT! ... for my body and my routine protein is key ... it provides more nourishment and satiety than the other for me ... I get both taste and the nutrition that I need all in one,...

Your number of meals daily makes big difference.  Since I am metabolically challenged I need smaller more frequent meals. Surgeon's rule is three meals and a snack.  Endocrinologist, six small meals throughout the day.

Long periods without eating shut my metabolism down and encourage fat storage.  I'm still learning how a calorie is not a calorie once you incorporate metabolism into the mix.  The hardest part is to eat every few hours as needed but remain controlled so there is no grazing.

TUESDAY: We are definetly on!  Five am at the usual spot.
