At nearly 3 years out, my advice would be to commit to this weight loss journey in your actions as you do with your words and good intentions.  We often are so excited about the opportunity, educate ourselves on what is involved, know and understand what is required.  But yet fail to execute the necessary steps to make the best out of it by not following instructions and continuing to engage in the same old eating habits we had prior to.  We fail by not drinking the protein, getting in the vits and water, and remaining sedentary while expecting this "magic" surgery to do all the work.

Simply having the procedure to lose the weight itself won't get the results we desire!  We have to commit to doing our part once we commit to traveling this road!

I'm learning this myself too family!!

Never buy a larger size.  You will know what size you need to maintain forever.  Don't let vanity sizes fool you.  Measure your clothing as you shop so there is no lying to yourself.

Have a plan and live it.  I'm not talking military style, inflexible, and soul killing.  I am talking about deciding how you will live to maintain for the rest of your life.
How many calories do you need a week?
How many hours of exercise do you need in a week?
How many times a day do you need to eat and at what times?
How will you adjust when you overeat or under exercise?
How committed will you be to remaining your desired size?
