Liquid Diet and Family Function
I started my liquid diet and I am now on day 3. Day 1 was the worst. Had a headache all day. Went to bed with a headached and woke up with one. Day 2 wasn't to bad. Day 3 felt light headed and had a bridal shower to attend. You would be proud of me. I brought one protein shake, 2 crystal lights, one broth and a sugar free jello. I didn't touch any of the food that was there. As I get closer to my surgery, will I have the will power to continue this? Bringing my own food to different family events and what not. I do hope so.
I even told two of my friends at the function I am having the surgery. As well as one of my cousins. Their responses were "you go girl and congrats". Well what can I say, so far I got the family support.

Whooo hooo girl way to go.
This is the exact thing I did today, bring my drink , broth and jello to the grandperents for dinner.
Sending the good vibe, so you dont have to hope so.

Great job on the will power. Yes, you will need a lot of it along the way at times, and at other times, it will seem mundane and effortless!
We all have our journies and stories, but generally it becomes more manageable as time goes on and you learn what works for you. I've found that as I strictly disciplined myself early in the wl process in the first six months post op, the easier it got. I didn't allow the bad eating habits to be a part of my new life, it served to set the stage for success in moderating my portions, ensuring my protein, vits and water intake were met, and getting in some physical exercise.
So, make the best of it, set your standards and be purposely disciplined to be successful early in the game! It's your journey to make it all you want it to be!

Congrats on thinking ahead. You may be carryong emereny supplies for the next year or so. Three years out and I still carry suplies so I'm prepared if I cannot easily get what I need. No more settling for dietary second best or making do. Glad you are committed right from the start.
