Did you tell?
RNY on 03/06/12
I have only told my 18 year old daughter (ho has been so supportive and helpful) and my sister. I attempted to share it with her when I was in the early preop stage. She was very negative about it so I let it drop. The day I came home from the hospital she called and I told her. Again negative reaction (she said it was because I did not tell her I was actually going to do it). I let her simmer and did not call her for two weeks and she didn't call me either (we have always been the best of friends).
After her two week pouting period she called and talked like nothing had happened. The next time we spoke she started asking about the surgery and how I am doing with it. I guess she got over it, which is goog cause that is really the only choice she had.

I'm so glad you had your daughter by your side from the start. Your sis may have taken longer, but like you said, she didnt really have a choice but to either accept it and move on or stay mad.
Getting back on track 10yrs later after a REGAIN of approx 35lbs
