IF IT AIN'T ONE THING ITS ANOTHER
throw it away! and walk on the track or in a park, anywhere! i live in the city and i leave near a track, pre op i could not afford a gym membership. i was nervous because i did not want to run on the track but when i saw all the elderly people walking and running past me i got over it! i put my headphones on and got moving. it helped get the per surgery weight off, hope this helps..
I walk in the park on my days off or when i can make time but since I work two jobs i'm able to get up 4:30 in the morning and walk safely on my treadmill or if i don't get it first thing in the morning i can do it when i get home from my second job... but i hear ya and walking is the best and my personal favorite. walkling at home around my available time is better....i'm going to walmart and pick up some walk away the pounds tonight. thanks
Walk in place. Run in place. Walk to a leslie sansone dvd anywhere from one to five miles, beginner to advanced level.
As I see it, you don't have a problem. Check out the link to podrunner in the accountability thread. There are 10 week programs for 5k, 8k, 10k, speed and endurance. All can be done indoors through the house if space allows or in place if space is tight.
A 150lb woman burns about 540 cals jogging at 5mph. The same woman burns about 540 cals running in place. Keep pace with the music and you cover the distance be it in a room of your home, on a treadmill, or a true outside run.
I run 10k and speed bump programs using podrunner. I've been indoor running since 2009 and I have a resting heart rate near that of an athlete.
