Those of us that have come through wls safely are blessed. We will not all loose quickly and we may struggle for every pound. However, we must appreciate and honor this blessing bu doing the best we can. Thanks for the reminder.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.

i watched the one with the girl who's mom kept making smart comments and she moved out at one point. its hard enough to be SMO and your family is no help at all! i know its totally up to her to use her tool but when you have negative people in the way even after surgery that make the journey that much harder. sometime you have to tune people out but its hard! it took a health scare and a lot of job rejections to get me going so i can only imagine how hard it can be for someone 600 pounds! i agree its a up hill battle. i going to kept at it so i can stay in my skinny jeans and healthy!
-They showcase failure although over 90% of us accross all surgery types succeed in keeping off 50% of the excess weight long term.
-They portray us as unwilling and weak in character where changing out behavior is concerned.
-They refuse to adress the issues of addiction, up bringing, culture, habits, metabolism, etc; all of which contribute to our diverse reasons for obesity, except in the most superficial and condescending manner.
As a result we step out of surgery into a society expecting us to fail inspite of the high success rate. This is in part why we need good support systems. It is so unfortunate that oh is fast becoming just another garbage diet site.
Just once I would like to see a program that respects the subjects as individuals. Each is dealing with the same resulting condition but, their details differ as does the path to their long term success after wls.
Alright, putting soap box away now.
