Accountability Mission: No Mercy and No Excuses 


The basic rules.  While details vary among medical practices there are a few things each physician's plan have in common.  Then there are the individual adjustments we find work best for ourselves.  Work the details as they work best for you but keep in mind that some things are non negotiables. 

Tell the whole truth and be accountable.   
Water: A neccesity but one of the hardest things to get used to.  My philosophy was that my caffine free diet coke is a liquid made with water so I'm covered.  Nice try, but plain water does not make the kidneys work like other beverages do.  

Water helps the body rid itself of impurities including water fluid retention and fat burned.  No matter how you have chosen to loose the fat, liberal amounts of aqua pura should be included in your daily requirements. 
This is especially important to keep us hydrated as we exercise and to release the by product of a det higher in protein. 

Minimum 64oz.  My doc reccomends 100oz.  I know many vets who swear ny 128oz, a full gallon of non cafinated liquids including plain water daily. 

The two'fer:

Tell the whole truth and be accountable. 
What did you eat yesterday?  How did it compare to the way you should have eaten?  What will you eat today and will you be on plan? 

Sip, sip, sip.  It is far easier to sip a glass eachwaking hour except for the required "grace" period before or ater meals than to attempt to guzzle it all down in a short space of time.  Pre ops and never gonna be ops, this applies to you as well.   Drink tha****er daily. 

The three'fer:

Exercise: Did you participate in any dedicated workout activity yesterday?   Will you dedicate time to exercise today?  I'm not talking about housework or shopping etc.  I am talking about @$$ up and out for the sake of working the body to improve heart, lungs, and muscles.  What are you doing today?  

Not all of us have had or plan to have weight loss surgery.  I get reminders on the back line but us wls folks rule the boards so there are not to many related questions posted (I wish you would because there are more of you than you each may think.)
.  Never going to be op; pre op; newbie; tween; or vet we share common needs.  Sufficient vitamins and supplements for our conditions; adequate nutritious food in sensible portions; and regular exercise are the body's needs and not just part of our wish lists. 

How accountable have are you been  for your food intake, liquids, exercise, and macro nutrients.  What will you do to ensure you have it right?

I would takl basics the week I'm struggling to stick with it.  My plain water is non existant and protein barely adequate.  Minimum is not good enough for my metabolism.  Protein needs to be my main food source.   Vits and calories are holding steady but foof choices have been poor hence the high carbs low protein. 

Research suggests I need to up the protein and calories but I'm afraid to take the risk.  I know cutting calories is not resulting in weight loss.  Perhaps I need to gradually bring the average up a bit. 

I don't even want to think about my weight and body fat % mush less see it in writing.  Not to mention the expanding inches. 

The weight loss industry snake oils are looking better and better.  I just keep reminding myself that they did not work in the past so why should I expect anything different today.  The wl industry has enough of my cash.  I just have to keep at the research until I find what both works and suits my preferences.

I have to say I'm very proud of myself I haven't touched any alcohol nor sweets non what so ever, even though that corona looking pretty temping in the fridge with it ice trinkling down the side of..

Next week I'll focus on exercise and building up my protein intake. I noticed exercise works better for me if I try to do it the same time each day like a routine.

Also, I've been taking my calcium, biotein and multi vitamins daily. I really want this and I don't want to fall off the bandwagon AGAIN huh! its coming on a year since I started this journey. I shoulda been finished and on the loser bench talking about placstic surgery by now.LOL!

All in good time, your day will come.  I thought my decision took 8-9 years.  Recently Irealizd it was more like 11-12 years in the making.  Just keep getting yourself prepared.  Body.  Mind.  Spirit.
