Accountability Mission: No Mercy and No Excuses  Message boards have re-runs just like tv!  Who knew?

But seriously folks, a lot of us had the same things on our minds when I posted this a month ago.  Some through pm's, or texts and others on the board.  So we can keep our goals in mind I think it bears repeating with a few updates.  Do we want to re awaken in 2013 in despair over how we bagan 2012 with determination and then let our sparks die?

epiphany - a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience

Many of us had an epiphany and made a plan.  Now its time to tell the whole truth and be accountable.  Having lamented over where you stood at the start of the year, how have you progressed over this past month?  I posted nothing original.  Parroting the old BAF vets I wrote:

- Make a plan people.  No I'm NOT talking resolution. Raise your right hand and solemnly resolve that a resolution on its own is made to crumble.  There is far more involved in changing human behavior.

- Examine your mind, body, and spirit.  Brutal honesty is required and this will likely hurt and bad.  Through introspective you find your way to a better self.

- Expect to be challenged and even feel like a failure.  No great change happens with ease.  If it does it really was not that big a deal.

- Take help where you find it and reject out of hand anyone and anything that opposes your self improvement mission.  There is no room for negative introspection or external input. If the only value is to discourage then it is beneath worthless.
- Accomplish at least one thing each day.  Just one small accountable action that furthers your personal mission.  It can change from day to day as your needs change and strengths wax and wane.  Over time change will grow and expand as your work comes to fruition.

An apropos cliche: Failing to plan is planning to fail.

This is about your overall quality of life.  Change won't just happen.  You must be the impetus for changing your life.

Weight is a matter of  metabolism, intake, outflow, emotion, spirit, desire, and loads of things that never crossed my mind.  It varies for each of us.  Whatever your approach treat the whole you.  Our "selves" are more  than a number on the scale or size on a garment tag.

With this to refresh the memory, where are you today vs a month ago?  Where did you hope to be?  If this is not pleasing to you how will you reconcile the two so you accomplish your short and long term objectives?

...All are welcome, jump in at anytime.

Who you telling!  I was and still am too pissed off to speak of it but I don't keep wl secrets from my BAF family so my pathetic tale is below.

What ****** me off most is that even with my dysfunctional binge eating I cut my calorie average by 250 a day and upped my cardio.  Still I manage to gain weight.

Warning: Commencing *****ing and moaning

Another year gone by and I am not where I want to be plus I've got well meaning but annoying as all hell "professionals" telling me its ok because it is metabolic.  Well its not ok.  It was also not ok for "profssionals" to tell me I just plain ate too much when I was fat.   They don't have a clue its apply the status quo to everyone.  Well sometimes those damned hoof beats are zebras or something else and not horses.  These "pros" need to stop treating fat people as one solution size fits all and address individual issues.  If the calories in vs calories out equation worked, I would have long expired from underweight long ago.

End ***** & moan.

So I posted on the 23rd that instead of loosing 2.1 lbs for the week as calculated I gained 1.2 lbs.  I was way too disgusted to do the body fat percentage calculation.  So there I am 10 lbs over my lowest nearing 18 months following a six day gain of 20 lbs.

Well, before leaving on vacation I tried everything on knowing my weight was up.  What fit that Sunday was tight by the following Saturday.  Just six days and I had to grease up and shoe horn my @$$ into my clothing damnit. By the time I got back I was up another 12 lbs.  This was after I had peaked and some of the weight started to come down a bit.  My pattern is rapid edema replaced by solid fat as the edema subsides.  This was with calories down and exercise up.

Now I have twenty to loose not ten before I can loose the extra five I've wanted to drop since I first hit goal.   WTF?!?  All of my clothes are tight now not just some.  But, I refuse to buy anything larger.  I am so sick of hearing it is hormonal.   Just like when the other newbies were loosing and I was gaining  five weeks post op, I'm on my own.

Folks are your own best advocate.  If your nut is nuts and your surgeon is not worried about it unless you no longer meet their definition of success, you must find your own way.

My tight jeans are a relatively small size.  However, knowing I have spurts of weight gain I will be in the double digits before I know it.  I've already jumped into overweight from normal.  Obese is not far off.  That will not happen to me even if it means liquid protein only for life.  My insides were not diced and sliced so I could stay fat.

I've upped the workout and lowered the calorie average so the numbers say I should loose 2-2.5 lbs a week.  Its time to get back to researching.  I will loose this twelve and the ten I have been fighing and then the five as a cushion that I want gone as well.  I must.  It is not optional.

While cruising on the standard twelve meal a day plan, lol, I did pretty well (pat myself on the back).  Drinks and desert were my indulgences.  Just enough protein.  Too many cookies.  But, I hit the gym followed by the spa for a good hour of cardio to start my days.  Also, I used only the stairs except when embarking and disembarking at the begning and at the end.

The weight gain began over a week before vacation.  Thankfully my determination to stick with my cardio and stay active helped to keep it from getting worse.  I'm fairly certain the weight gain peaked above fifteen pounds.  I refused to weigh at sea and depress myself.

We can do the right thing and not always get the right result.  Not claiming perfection here but I know my calorie average is on track for weight loss.  I just can't seem to find loose any.  Perhaps I need a slight increase rather than another reduction.  Or, maybe I need to look into other possibilities suggested by my research.

I made a plan but It is not working.    Time for a new plan.  Ideas and options.     Its out there, there are always alternatives.  I just have to find the right weight loss pln for me.

I got desperate and gave in to doing the 10 day Master Cleanse.  Started Friday and have survived 3 days so far.  I will ease out of it at the end of ten days and try to get into a routine that will help me lose weight with a normal plan of food intake.

I say do what you need to do.  If it gets you on track yhats all that matters.  When my appetite is growing I go liquids (protein drinks) for a couple days to get back under control.

While I've read master cleanse I don't really get it but then I don't need to.  I'm not doing it am I?  Hope it gives you the jump start you need.
