The billion dollar wl industry snake oil won't work an better now than it did back then. I'm still waiting to meet that 5% of the population that achieves long term success with these products. Most of us know a good few of the 95% included in the failure rate.
I know some wls folks that have received perscription appetite surpresents a few years post op. They are generally in the amphetamine category so some doctors hesitiate to prescribe them while others say anything to get and keep the weight off. Medical weight loss clinics may be more willing prescribers.
I say do what you need to do. However, keep in mind this industry's track record. They do not need to show any results to sell you anything and repeat business drives their profits. If your surgeons office is of no real help another medical office may be more beneficial than buyig one wl product after another.
