Good Morning! Its been a long long time, nevertheless  I have  questions, Im hoping I can get some good information.
Im considering a tummy tuck,

These are my questions: any and all feedback is appreciated, Im completly unaware of the whole process.

1) what is usually the cost of this type of procedure; does insurance cover any expenses?
2) how long is recovery?
3) exactly what is done, is all the fat removed from my belly, etc, etc
4) is there anything else I should be considering b/f looking into this procedure

Thanks

1,  Cost varies depending on your location and dr,
2.  Recovery time is a few weeks
3.  They remove the loose skin and depending on the laxity of the muscle they tighten them
4.  You should watch youtube videos of the surgery and before and after, look at risks involved, etc....

When my  wife had hers done they did a anchor cut because she had a ton of skin to be removed.  The anchor cut is where they cut you on the bikini line and right up the middle of your belly so it looks like a anchor.

(This is a borrowed pic from internet)

My wife barely had any pain at all, she was just numb.  She had much more pain with her bypass than the tummy tuck.

Like everyone always says,  do you research, learn about the procedures and go into it with a wealth of knowledge is your best bet.

Hi Ms. Nissy!

My insurance, Kaiser, paid for my panniculectomy since I was having issues with yeast, smell, etc.  My doctor told me that all my swelling would go down in about 6 months but I swear my hips feel like they are swollen.  They look so much bigger to me now and I still have the under skin itching.  I just take benedril at night and I'm fine.  Here's link to the a site for some additional information this procedure:
http://www.yourbariatricsurgeryguide.com/panniculectomy/

OH also have a plastic surgery message board and the members are just as  helpful and generous with advice and before and after pictures.  I hope this information helps.  Good luck on your next phase.
