I swear this has been worrying me lately. I missed two aunts funerals because I was to embarrassed of my fat, my mom is 77 or so and if anything happens I don't want my fat to be a factor, my brother in in stage four lung cancer, what if something happens to him?
I really have to get it together and maybe this type of thinking I can use to help me get my ass in gear. Hmmmmmmmm..........

MsLee, you are going to have to learn to love the body you are in regardless of the fat. I'll bet the more you stress the worse you eat. Lord knows I'm as much a problem child. Stressing had be binging on shredded cabbage and zero cal dressing to avoid wait gain due to stressing over my weight. I'm not sure folks like us will ever find sanity.
As for your appearance? You still look fabulous unless you changed into some kind of ogre since your last travel pics. I still say you need to flaunt that hourglass shape like MsGlammy does. Hit shapefx.com. Everything with built in shapewear to enhance the positives and say screw it to the bumps and rolls. Get dressed and go see your people. Regrets once they are gone come too late.

I need a dam shrink. Not shape wear which I don't wear by the way.
Marcia I am not kidding you I have gained almost 40 pounds since I got home from vacation. I gain weight so dam fast and take so long to lose it. I think this huge gain is what got me all screwed up.

MsLee, I have no doubt you are a compulsive over eater (coe). Just like me.
We talk about surgeries and wl on this site but rarely do you see discussion of eating disorders and obesity. Often when there is a related post some idiot responds with you are/ were not ready for surgery. The best you get is a referrence to the obscure head hunger.
A shrink is just what most of us need. Honesty in why and how we met with obesity is the dancing pink hippo we pretrend we can't see. We need to separate the physical wl from the behavior.
Finally some eating disorder clinics and health insurance policies are including obese people and folks like us who still have an obese brain. MsMollie just went through one. Sounds emotionally grueling but you are already suffering emotionally.
For me its oa online. I lurk mostly but I read the literature and sometimes do online meetings. OA sucks @$$ but its all I got right now. You need to focus on why you gained weight after so much hasrd fought success with EFS.
Now I can teach you how to binge without weight gain. Two scoops protein and lots of junk food only for 1100 cal weth protein needs met. Ruffles lite, full bag 6.5oz, 520 cal; hill & valley sf angel food cake 360 cal whole cake... shall I continue?

Lee,
At some point, you will transform to a point where you will not really care what others think of your appearance. Of course, there will always be a part of us that are self conscious about our weight. Its natural and expected. However, the thing that helps me is realizing that no one is better than me and we all have flaws. No one is perfect. If a true emergency were to happen, I have no doubt that you would be there for your mom and your brother because you know that they would be there for you.
Personally, I am not too keen on attending funerals myself. I have only been to two funerals in my life. My grandmother and the mother of a close friend. I only attend if I feel that I can really be a support for the other person. There's no need for you to beat yourself up about it. Funerals and really close family gatherings are not for everybody. Especially, if you "know" that people will talk about you behind your back. And most do...rather than focusing on the loss of a loved one. I have family like this....and I only will spend time with a select few regardless of the occasion. I am sure that you would not have a problem attending whatever occasion if you felt that unconditional love permeating the place.
Well...that's my two cents. Just try to stay in today. We have to focus on the things that we can control today. I am also going to take my own advice and do the same. Yes, we need to get our a**es in gear but from what I can tell...you have been making nice strides..

Sorry to tell you MD but my mom has turned her back on me. She can't deal with having a gay daughter. LOL. Dam shame.
The entire time I was in NY this summer all I heard was YOU SO FAT. I got so sick of hearing that **** LOL.
But i'm doing something about it because I have gained way to much weight since I got home and i'm uncomfortable now.
