Calling ALL exercise gurus.....

I am in need of some really good upper body exercises I can do at home while recovering from foot surgery - that I have to keep elevated.  I am limited to walking to my bathroom as needed and to my kitchen 1-2 times a day (after or before a bathroom visit) while the pins & rods are in my feet.  I am also still recovering from the first surgery back in June which is why I can't be on my feet for long due to the swelling it causes.  Since my WLS surgery, I'd gotten used to moving around and exercising but now, it's next to impossible.  I'm bored with being laid up which is not a good thing for me.

So, any advice and/or suggestions would be appreciated!!!

I lay no claim to being an exercise expert but I have attended classes that included wheel chair bound participants.  I would start with a search on exercises for the disabled/ seniors since they usually include seated movements and cardio through upper body motions like boxing moves.

Also, there are free weight exercises that are normally done seated if you have hand weights or something you can use as hand weights.  Here are a few I found searching the term "seated exercises".   You can skip those that involve leg motions.

Hope you are on the mend and will be back on your feet soon.
