Ok, I'm all about quick, easy & of course cheap. Here are some of mine:
Keep cabbage mix on hand. I use it in place of lettuce in salads & also cuts down on prep time for a quick stir fry, or cooked cabbage. Best place to buy is wallyworld at about $1.50 a bag.
Success brown rice is tasty rice that comes in boil a bags & runs about $2.26 a box, they tend to put $1.00 coupons on their box periodically through the year, which is when i stock up on them.
Fresh Express also does shredded broccoli & shredded broccolli/cauliflower, which cuts down on prep time & is great for a quick meal for steamed veggies, in place of lettuce or stir fry
Broccoli slaw and angel hair cabbage are my stand bys too. I keep a few prepared sauces to flavor my veg like kikkoman teriyaki, garlic teriyaki, soy, and stir fry sauces. Many come low sodium too. your pot.
Onions and peppers already dices are a real tome saver as are sliced mushrooms. Also fresh salsa which is simply tomato, onion, and peppers diced and ready to spoon into your pot.
Hormel has a trimmed pork loin plain or seasoned just stick in the oven. It sells for about $9. Ttoo pricey for me but if you've got a win dixie nearby get on their email list and look for the meat dept buy one get one sales. Every week there are several items including beef, fish,pork, chicken, shrimp, and king, opio, and dungeness crab clusters in the shell.
I begin my shopping at the dollar store. Dollar tree where everything is $1 or less has libby's canned veg 0.79 every day. A variety of dried beans and canned beans for $1. Name branda like prego and hunts tomato products $1. Bottled natural spring water six pack 16.9 oz to gallon size just $1. Name brand dish washing liquid, zip lock storage bags, napkins and paper towels, west soy low fat sot milk... I could go on indefinetly.
Next its big lots. Half price or there abouts on the brand name grocery items. Brands may vary but its all good stuff.
Meat is sale items only at the supermarket. By the time I'm done with the discount stores I need very little. Stock up on sale items regularly and you will rearly ever pay full price for anything
