Family Reunion has begun, official DAY. 1

Ok so I drive up and I am feeling really good and I know I looked great because my clothes were fitting good and tight and I looked hot.

I step out of the car and my sister walks up, here is how the conversation went:

Sister: I lost all my weight and you just got fat
Me: Yeah and I have all my teeth and you have none
Sister: Mine are in my drawer
Me: Well you need to take them out of the drawer because you look like a drawn up old ass hag.

I can not tell you guys how many times I heard your fat as a pig, your so fat you need to be ashamed, you fat this, you fat that.

My sister told me that the reason why a lot of the young girls don't come around is because they get sick of being called pig and hippo. It really is a dam shame what this family does to each other, and the sad thing is the ones doing the name calling are the big ones themselves, and sad to say my mom is the ******g ring leader.

I said to them today, " is it a prerequisite that you have to be thin to go to a family reunion in this family. Not one person said one thing about my life, not one person inquires about my travels, or where I live, or what I do for a living, just automatically your fat. I stayed away for 28 years and I think it will be another 28 before you see me again."

Hopefully the days are going to get better.  I remember the last family reunion on my father side.  My father saided you'll must feel good (about our size) we was the smallest of the big people there.  My sister's didn't remember him saying that but it stuck with me to this day. I was the biggest of his 3 daughter probably why they didn"t remember the statement..

Girl I am so glad you spelled it out for them.   As good as you look its amazing anyone could say that with a straight face.  Only family could stand there and insult you with a lie.   I have a sister I have not spoken to in the better part of a decade and I find it preferable to how you were greated by your sister.  No wonder you were so aprehensive about going. 

God rest their souls, I've had to put the breaks on both mom and dad from time to time with their need to evaluate my body.  If I had a more generouse spirit I would say something like how flawed they are and hurting iside so they seek a target etc but they need your love...  I'm not that generous or forgiving. 

Its mom you need to deal with because she is your one and only, warts and all.  The rest can go screw themselves.  You've got a good life which you appreciate and enjoy.  That's more than enough to bring the haters out. 

Enjoy the company of the sane folks in the family.  To those twisted minds and their twisted fat phobic issues its fkcu you and the horse you rode in on.    Don't let the haters win girl. 

Now, about that form fitting jersey knit dress.  I say with stilletoes or a medium heeled sling back sandle.  What do you think? 

(I know my BAF sister luvs me thats why I can act ignorant about a dress and heels    .    Now to sit back and wait for my cussing out...   Ok, I'll behave myself now.  )

I am on my way to the banquet and I am not anticipating anything good to come out of these ignorant ass people mouths. I talked to my mom this morning and told her how messed up it is to call young girls fat and how it really wrecks havoc on their psyched, well she says yeah I know, they need to stop that mess. I almost hit the floor In disbelief that she said that because she is the dam ring leader, and less than three minutes later she was calling my nephew fat and making fun of how he walks and can't breath.

I give up on trying to change this ignorant thinking because you show it to them and instead of taking responsibility they start blaming others for doing it.

I can't wait to take my ass home and away from these idiots.

Hey Skinny ignore the haters and strut your stuff.  You have come a long long way and if they won't admit it YOU know the TRUTH.  They probably continue to call you fat because that is the only thing they can say that will hurt your feelings even though it is NOT true.  I've learned to stick the dreaded family visits out after having spent hundreds of dollars several times changing my plane reservations to leave several days earlier than I originally planned. Unfortunately some family members are jealous of their own family members and they don't know why or how to express it except to put you down. 

Keep your head up lady and relish in your wonderful and successful WL journey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PC I think you are absolutely correct, and the longer I am here the more obvious it becomes.

You expect more from your family but you always get less.

Look on the bright side.  You can handle anybody and anything for a couple of days.  Stick and stones may break my bones but the words of the ignorant will never hurt me.  You got this. Work it.

Z I think you got the interpretation of that old saying all wrong because words hurt so much more than any stick or stone and the hurt lingers much longer.
