Now...I am not trying to start a flame or add to the divisiveness between us black folk but if happiness is your main goal in life....why put color up as a barrier.  My boyfriend and I are really getting serious...talking engagement and marriage. Hes of Russian Decent.....and of course I am a BAFer.l I have NEVER been this happy with another person! We are twin souls and have SO mu*****ommon.  Now I am not saying that I could not have found happiness elsewhere but LOVE and happiness came my way AND I plan to GO with it! There are so many beautiful black sistas and bruthas out here (mind, body and soul) who are holding out for the sista or brutha thats going to be their life mate. Its admirable AND yes...its possible but the days are still dwindling away...while you wait. HAPPINESS is to be HAD today because we are not promised tomorrow.   I found this article and thought that I would share. I really wanted to share it because certain parts of it made me laugh out loud LOL! I figure everyone could use a laugh or two. Laughter is a good medicine for what ails you. (the latter pics and captions are a hoot). I was not content to live life as a single.... As humans, we are social animals so love and companionship is our nature.

ETA: My BF and my girls travelled South to see my relatives. All were very welcoming and warm to my BF.   We had a great time. Afterwards...when I emailed friends and family some of the vacation pics....ONE of my distant friends had the nerves to say...A WHITE MAN! A WHITE MAN! Thats all she said...because I have really been very private with my new relationship.....not wanting to get too excited or out there until I knew it was on a pretty solid foundation.  Thats all she needed say. Why cant a person ....just be happy for you without interjecting their own bias. Needless to say...she will not be getting an invitation to the wedding.

Well...heading out shortly.  Peace to everyone....wishing you many blessings...may you have joy, peace and happiness in your life.

Oh....I almost forgot.....hands and feet are the key ladies...hands and feet. No matter the color. BUT true intimacy is the BOMB!!!!

Hold Up Wait a Minute, Put A Little White In It!

While some sistas were putting up with lazy, gay, and/or generally sorry Black men, these sistas said Boy bye! and found successful unions with successful men of other races, mainly white. It's so interesting that Black women generally go for the cream of the crop white man, but Black men sometimes (usually) bend down to scrape the bottom of the white girl barrel.

Were you aware that an increasing number of white men love the strength and natural loveliness of Black women? They appreciate the difference and marvel at the beauty. I’m all for Black love, but if the store is out of brown bread I don't see nothin' wrong with trying the white.

This post is very picture-intense, but a picture is worth a thousand words. Imagine what all of these pics are saying...

Girlfriend!  You remember that this has come up on BAF before right?  On the board and the backline.  It has been up to and including critiques on if its worth crossing over for someone who looks like that.  Should I insert lol or smh.

My only issue with interacial relationships is with those who date for the wrong reasons.  Like black folks *****ject out of hand Black people by shade, hair texture,  ethnicity etc.  Or like white folks who don't quite fit their 'expected' social circle so they see only Black folks who would view them as a prize because they are white.

I say take love where you find it.  If you are together for the right reasons; that is, because this is the person you care for and who cares for you.  If you would have fallen for each other if you were the same color, colors were reversed, or you were completely different colors, this is the one for you.  Appreciate and enjoy the blessing.

Now I know why you've been mia.  Congratulations to you.

Thanks...Mar,

Yep...I remember those conversations. I think I just needed to vent a little. It really ticked me off. If the shoe were on the other foot, I would not care if she fell in love with a one-footed cross dressing midget as long as she was happy. I am over the initial knee jerk feelings now....so I can get back to business....BEING happy.  I wont lie...it took me a minute to get used to the ideal of being with anyone other than a black man. And...while I was trying really hard to get used to the idea of being single.... "poof" he walked into my life. Makes me and the girls laugh, we worship together and we are all happy and at peace. I feel I deserve this at this stage in my life.  It feels good not dwelling on the painful stuff for a change and enjoying life....
Getting the support  I need from a very positive person....and I return in kind.

I see you are still doing your thing....looking good girl!

Just do you!!   For people who worry about what others think & base their actions on other's opinons, they'll never be happy.

You are so right Gigi....I am not going to lie...I was one of those people pleasers....BUT it took maturity for me to realize that the only people that REALLY matter when it comes to MY Choices is me and my girls. Everybody else can kick rocks.... Being human though the feelings of disappointment in people will catch a person off guard.

Glad to see you posting the discounts. In this economy, we can use any little bit.

Miss your loooooooong posts MD I say do you & take love where you find it..  The common denominator of all of the pictures is everyone looks happy that is whats important.

Just wanted to make sure you were paying attention.*  LOL

There were a lot of celebrities that I did not know were dating someone of another race interesting.  The pool of black men is slim we have to keep an open mind.

Hey Poker! LOL....whenever I see your post, I remember that time we were all over on R&R acting up about the chicken coupons!  That was fun!

Yes, I am so happy. I have to pinch myself to make sure I am not dreaming. I know that many of us who want it...will find a special person....we just have to be very careful about limiting our options due to THE fear of the unknown.

Girl, my motto is 'get in where you fit in'.

Personally I've dated several times outside, but then I figured out there were dating me out of curiosity, just to see what being with a Black woman was like.

I'm not saying I wouldn't go there again, but it would have to be with someone that's dated a Black woman before. Its a non issue anyway since I'm with a guy now for the past several months and he's a brother.

Best of luck on continued happiness in your relationship.

Hi Michelle!

Congrats to you too....wishing you all the best with your BF.  I think the difference with any man is that we have to make them work a little to see if they are serious about being with us. I know that I have made the mistake of being too easy at the onset...trying to get that good man. HUGE mistake. The end result ~in most cases~ that they dont respect us...and a long term relationship is the furthest thing from their mind.  I was not trying to make any moves until I met his family. I did think about the curiosity thing too. IMO, a person that is trying to play those games is not apt to let you meet anyone close to them (other than his boys)....unless they are serious...no matter the color

I have been in an inter-racial relationship/marriage for 15 years and I don't want anyone else.   Yes I miss out on the black girl curves and bootie but I love my  white Puerto Rican girl and woudn't trade her for all the bootie in the world.

I just told a waiter 2 days ago when he asked how I liked my coffee, I said I like it like I like my women, strong and black.  LOL.  But I acquired a strong taste for milk too.  LOL.   He was like ummm ok mam.  LOL LOL    Becca was dying laughing.
