HOLD MY FEET TO THE FIRE! ACCOUNTABILITY MONDAY
Accountability Mission: No Mercy and No Excuses
Chirp... chirp... chirp... Is anyone still out there? I'm beginning to think this is the lonliest thread on all of OH. Perhaps its my breath? Oh well...
I hope Mother's Day was good for everyone and that everyone was good to their mothers.
How did you get through the weekend? How did you manage your week? Did you see the weight loss you've been working for? Tell the whole truth and be accountable. Were you focused on your goals as you handled yet another potential big eating day?
As a fat teen I read a well respected psychologist's book on eating habits and loosing weight. No one outside of the medical community used the word obesity in the 70's. (Now watch it with the age jokes. Yes I was a teen in the 70's and no I am NOT old, lol.) We were all just fat; perhaps overweight. One of the things he noted was the special occaision or exceptions to the rule.
Exceptions like: That family member that says just one taste/ bite/ piece etc won't hurt you. You can't be rude to your host/ hostess/ guests. Its a birthday/ funeral/ wedding/ holiday/ graduation... See where I am going with this?
Happy occaision eat. Sad occaision eat. Special event eat. Annual event eat. The author added up the birthdays, anniversaries, special ocaisions etc he had in a typical year. He did not include the big holidays if my memory serves me well. Over the course of a year he had 'permission' to overeat two to three times a month. When you consider how many calories you can pack away with just a small amout of calorie rich foods a couple of exceptions a month can easily lead to obesity.
People who stay slim have learned to manage these events. It may be cutting back before or after the occaision or not eating foods that promote weight gain or strict portion control.
This is a big part of staying committed to yourself. This is part of how we can live the solution and defeat the problem of obesity. We can do this.
...All are welcome, jump in at anytime.

Daily calorie needs calculator
A more advanced calculator that's still easy to use.
Advanced option lets you choose from 3 different calculation methods. Enter data once for calorie needs at maintenance; plus calorie needs for 2 different levels of weight loss; and, results include a week long calorie cycling plan. Calculator takes into account age and gender as well as activity level. Links to other calculators are on the same page.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
No elaborate meal for my Mother's Day. Post op special occaision food for me is no longer a good restaurant or a nice spread of home made delicacies. I want carbs damnit, lol.
My special occaision foods are things like sanwhiches from Panera, something deep fried, or french fries from just about anywhere. That's eactly what I had too. Buffalo wings and fries, then a bag of pretzels.
Having planned it out in advance I still came in 61 calories under maintenance for my ideal weight. Yay me!

mmmm On my free days I had fries twice and I enjoyed every single salty bite of them,..... Oh lord stop it don't even think of those delicious little skinny, hot, fresh out of the grease things, forget how they sizzled when you dipped them into that ketchup and how the outside made a crunch sound but the inside was soft and very potatoeeeeeee y. LOL.
STOP IT DAMIT !!!!
My lunch was a Greek yogurt and a pear. DAMIT.

My day was ok I don't celebrate. Had a taste for chicken, mexican cornbread and redbeans w/rice so that's what we had. Should not have been hungry cause I ate 30 chocolate covered peanuts before bed Saturday night. Anyway, got up cooked early and food was ready by 9:30 am. Since I canned the redbeans in the fall, all I had to do was open the jar, bake the chicken, cook the rice and cornbread. When we got home from the meeting, it was soooo good to have the food ready. Got a little over on calories but doing better today.
