UPDATE: 6 years out and I had to go to the ER!
Clinical Pearls for Emergency Care of the Bariatric Surgery Patient
A while back someone shared this link from the American Society for Metabolic & Bariatric Surgeons: http://asmbs.org/poster.html
I'm printing a copy of this TODAY to have in my wallet and also saving to my thumb drive to keep on my key chain.
I'm also ordering a copy of my original operative record so that if I am out of town and there is an emergency, they will know my anatomy and how to treat me.
OMG, Thank God you are OK. That is a scary. Good thing you acted on it. There has been a few times I have a very pain pains like that and have just opted to lay it down and wait it out. Reading your post actually is making me do some serious thinking to getting some test ran to make sure everything is in the Green and not in the red. I will be 6 years post-op as well and it has been smooth sailing as far as no complications but you never know.
