Met an awesome OH sista in New York... exchanged hobbies....

  I had an awesome Saturday in Manhattan where I drove down to meet and have breakfast and meet and have early bird fun with a beautiful sista, username BrownGathers, who I met right here on OH... 
BrownGathers Pmd me when I shared one of my favorite hobbies, painting/sketching people and she shared with me her hobby pottery in clay ... and her work is awesome....

We were drawn closer when she shared with me her newsclip on CBS teaching her students how to make sleeping bags for the homeless ... this really touched my heart... after corresponding a few times we decided to meet and greet in Manhattan and I drove in from Connecticut... I love love LOVE the Big Apple and my favorite place every I ALWAYS love to go to is Moods Fabrics but we did not make the time to go there yesterday and with my hurt wrist I have my sewing on hold....

I met her at Grand Central Station because she took the train in from her Burrough and it was like we had known each other FOR-EVER ... such camaraderie that went beyond all the pleasantries we had exchanged on OH and our crafts and art in our group Share-it ... we laughed as we strolled and had fun in Manhattan until we headed downtown for breakfast at Katz... 



and I had a surprise gift for her and other stuff along with it .... I warned her to bring a rolling case LOL ... I gave her a canvas having painted her before picture along with the picture of her new image in front of her classic sewing machine ... she loved it.... this is me giving this beautiful woman inside out... tiny and just lovely her canvas painted by me...



and she loved it!


and to my greatest surprise she presented me with a beautiful piece made by her in clay ... her very own original and I LOVE IT!!


This is us in collage our BEFORE and our AFTER .... two sistas on the journey for life and better health..... what fun we had .... to be repeated again in Connecticut this time....


I came home safe and sound and with enough energy to work on and finish a rough draft promised to Jenna of her grandparents .... it is a very rough draft.... haven't figured out yet where I am going with the background...

Yikes... the weekend went by with tons of fun... time to get ready for Monday ....
