Accountability Mission: No Mercy and No Excuses

Tell the whole truth and be accountable.  Have you made good decisions over the weekend?  Are you prepared for the week?  What's your motivation for those times your heart is not really in it and temptation is eyeballing you?

We may never be all there when it comes to thinking like a thin person.  Our dysfunctional eating patterns are deeply ingrained and may continue to re emerge.  Be prepared.  Have a back up plan to your back up plan.  Its not the one slip that leads to ruin but the one slip where you just stay down.

Daily calorie needs calculator
A more advanced calculator that's still easy to use.
Advanced option lets you choose from  3 different calculation methods.  Enter data once for calorie needs at maintenance;  plus calorie needs for 2 different levels of weight loss; and, results include a week long calorie cycling plan.  Calculator  takes into account age and gender as well as activity level.  Links to other calculators are on the same page.

Yesterday
Overshot my calories by 160 and blow up on total carbs.  Under plan for net carbs.  Protein high.  Liquids, plenty but no plain water.    No exercise.  I'll give myself a C+.

Too many sweet treats so the sugar alcohols brought the carbs up.  Then I had the nerve to have an extra 170 cal sweet treat at bed time bringing total calories over plan.  Perhapd I should be downgraded to a C-.

Last week got turn left with a sick baby and then went to disneyland this weekend.   But jump on the scale to see the damage, down .8 oz.   I will take it.

Today, had a wonderful workout and work out my legs and sit ups.  My carb are high for today already but I calories and protein are doing great.

Going to keep moving, hopefully can drop a couple pounds this week.

Keep on moving.  I've heard it contradicted but exercise matters to drop and keep off the pounds.

I am desparate.  Doing the atkins fat fast for a couple days to jump start ketosis.  Pounds are still bouncing up and down.

The atkins fat fast is a way to jump start ketosis and get weight loss moving.  I posted this to the atkins and low carb group awhile back and copied the post here.

Links to related info are included at the end.  I've never been able to do it before since I don't like the menu, but desperate times...

And Dear Lord am I desperate.  When I'm not loosing I can't stay focused.  I'm eating poorly and going off the rails.  Before I know it my calories will be out of control too.   I have got to get the scale moving again.

Atkins Fast Fat Diet (from the Atkins New Diet Revolution, 2002)

Intended for the metabolically challenged who have difficulty getting into ketosis.  I'm neither an advocate or critic.  Use, comment, or discard this information as you see fit.

What is a Fat Fast diet?
Source:

Dr. Atkins recommends the Fat Fast diet for hard core metabolically resistant patients. It's designed to push your metabolism into Ketosis, fast. It's a 1000-calorie a day, 90% fat diet. You divide the food into small portions, and have them at different times of the day. Dr. Atkins suggests dividing 1000 calories into five 200-calorie portions, and have it at 7am, 11am, 3pm, 7pm and before bedtime.

SUGGESTIONS FOR 200-CALORIE PORTIONS ARE:
  • 2 oz of sour cream, containing 1 tbs. of caviar, served on 3-4 pork rinds.
  • 2 deviled egg halves, server not in the whites, but on pork rinds.
  • Graham Newbould's Pate for Royalty (2 oz.) served on the soya bread.
  • 2 oz of chicken salad made with triple the usual amount of mayo (of ham salad, egg salad, shrimp salad.)
  • 1 oz of the above in a half avocado
  • 1 oz of macadamia nuts (or walnuts, or other nuts that fit the 90% fat criteria.
  • 2.5 oz of whipped heavy cream, artificially sweetened, and with ground vanilla beans
  • 2 oz of cream cheese
WARNING! This diet is extremely hard to do. For the first day or two you may feel a bit lethargic. So think twice about doing it. It is also recommended that you not continue for over a week because it has not been tested for long-term use. If you are not having trouble losing weight on the induction, or ongoing weight loss diet, the Fat Fast is not recommended
