What was your Plastic Surg experiance as a African American?

One last thing- my revision surgery was done by a Black surgeon - not saying only we can operate on us - but he was very knowledgeable about my skin issues - he actually had also done speciality reconstructive surgery on Black burn victims.  And again - make sure you get someone whose done WLS reconstruction on plenty of folk who have lost near or as much as you - that does make a difference as well.  Someone losing 50, 50, 70lbs is a WHOLE lot different than 200.

Hello!  Thanks MSW for "hunting" us down LOL.  I have had a abdominalplasty (TT) and smartlipo and vaser surgeries.  I do have a thin hairline scar as a result of my TT that stretches from hip to hip.  I also have two very small discolorations in my back from the smartlipo/vaser.  No surgery will yield perfect results.  However, I am really pleased with my "imperfections" since having the surgeries. 

I had an extended TT with ancor cutt done three months ago.  While I am still healing and a little swollen, my scars are fading quickly.  I am also light complected.  I have photos in my profile if you would like to see.  I had a minor issue with my belly button that died because a lack of blood flow caused by old scar tissue from a prior surgery.  It fell off and now I don't have a belly button, but you can't tell as I have the scar where it used to be....looks like a belly button.  I am very happy with my results.  I will probably have a little lipo done to the bottom of my stomach, but other than that I am very happy.  My doctor was black also.

Hey Hun... I had surgery on May 14,2010 (Breast Reduction) and May 29, 2010 (Extended TT with Anchor incision and the arm lift and the scaring has not been bad at all... My arm scars are still visible but faint and not an issue for me and my tummy and breast have healed beautifully...
