I'm over maintenance for the day by 147 cals. Its been a very low cal week so it should all wash. Gotta make sure I burn off the extra and meet my work out plan over the weekend. Back to weight loss mode.

I realized that eating like Becca, she essentially eats low carb without even realizing it. Damit, that gives me something to think about.
Planning on having a banana, and 2 oranges.
Carbs from veg and a little fruit. Skip the higher cal, less nutritious, starchy carbs. Use flax and nut meals etc in place of grain based flours. That has been my standard.
Its the only thing that works for me and I like eating this way too. The random hormonal weight gaining sprees are what screw me over. Also, by keeping protein levels up and eating sufficient calories, you will not loose muscle mass with strenuous exercise. Nor will you lack the energy to work out every day.
Perhaps low carb ain't all bad after all eh?

DAM YOU MARCIA, DAMMMM YOU !!!!!
Well I think eating this way is ok, I mean it's healthy and all. I didn't even think about it because when I use to do Atkins I was chomping down hot wings, and bacon, and all kinds of high fat, lots of butter, lots of grease, yumminess.
Eating like this seems more healthy than anything else to me it is just lower in carbs because of the fact that I don't have carbs in my house. The only carbs in this house that I usually eat daily is cream of wheats, oatmeal, popcorn, fruit, tortilla, and saltine crackers. I usually get in my carbs from those things AND THE MASS AMOUNTS OF SNACKS, AND JUNK FOOD I EAT . I am going to start having popcorn for snacks.
Becca asked me not to eat oatmeal and cream of wheat for at least a month to see if that will help my body want to lose weight. It's like she said, "WHAT YOU ARE DOING IS NOT WORKING, SO TRY IT MY WAY FOR A WHILE AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS, DON'T LABEL IT, DON'T FEAR IT, JUST TRY IT, WHAT'S THE WORST THAT COULD HAPPEN?
So I am doing it, Damit, But I do need to eat more for sure because I am exhausted.
I started low carbing under the Stillman diets in the 70's. They were low carb and low fat. Recently I discovered that I have to raise the fats to loose these days. Trouble is I don't like the taste of a lot of fats. I've set my fat to 50% of total calories. Fingers crossed, I'll keep loosing until I get back to my low minus five pounds.
While I don't want to jinx it, as of today I've lost 14 lbs for 2011. I did not loose that much my first month post op. I still go up and down, but so far so good.
I have cycled my calories and my carbs. My daily average this month is 1491 calories, 17% carbs, 55% fats, 28% protein. I still cringe picking up stuff that's not fat free; but, what I was doing before was not working as well as it once did. Raising the fats is making a difference. I'm just trying to keep to good fats.
We are both going against our instincts. But like Becca told you, your way was not doing it. Like my surgeons manual states, you did it your way and it was not working. Give another method a chance. We both just have to commit to giving something new a try.
You think 165 days to go. I'll think 135 lbs here I come (8.8 lbs away).
I got my replacement Core DVD from Kettleworx and did the routine this morning..... umm.... now I kinda wish I'd left well enough alone and just kept on with the other two!!! LOL - OUCH!!! but - that shyt is the bomb!
My jeans fit now, I am back into my NY and Co shirts - I'm getting back to my 'happy' place! Now the trick will be staying the course and not derailing for BS. However - my 'spring cleaning' at my birthday and removing toxic mofos from being able to even contact me has done WONDERS - I finally had to admit to myself I am NOT that strong, that shyt WAS bothering me and I could NOT control it........
