OMG!

What a cruel way to put your baby down.  Is this your normal vet?  I would have lost it.  I already have an agreement with a friend that if any of my pets need to be put down, she'll go with them, and I'll go for hers.  There's no way I could be present.

Yep it is my normal vet, and Becca's mom did lose it, she started screaming.

I wanted to go with Paco because he was my baby and he was more attatched to me than anyone else.   He gave me this look like,  moma help me,  and it's that look that is haunting my heart.

Lee my doggie is just like my kid. I couldn't even bear reading your story all the way through without tearing up.

My thoughts are with you and Becca and may Pacco enjoy his life on the other side of the rainbow.

Thanks Rhonda.  Yep he was our baby.  13 years we had him and he had such a pampered life and that I am glad about.

Lee, I was talking to a coworker today whose hubby is a vet.  She recommends you report this vet to the states licensing board.

Hope you guys are ehaving a better day today.

Thanks Michelle,  On Monday I am going to call up every place I gained info for and report his ass.

I am a little better today,  I will be doing something and start crying but i'm getting it together.

I prayed and asked the lord to help remove that look he had from my mind, because that is what is hurting me so bad.

Each day will get a little easier and you go on ahead and cry if you need to.

Lee,

My condolences on the loss of your sweet pup.

Sadly, your situation is the second time in 2 months I have heard of a botched euthanasia procedure.  A friend of ours went to their vet to have their 19 year old cat, Rascal,  PTS since he was in decline and had become ill. Something so traumatic happened during the procedure that she cannot even discuss it rather than to say that it was 'botched and extremely cruel'.  I believe the same type of thing happened to Rascal as happened to Paco.

I was a vet assistant back during my teen years and have seen and even participated in many a 'final  procedure'.  My vet was so careful when measuring out the final dose that he always added more to the (single dose) syringe than required.  It was always an instant, single injection that acted within 1-3 seconds to full effect.  That is how it should go each and every time.

My heart breaks for you and Becca's Mom, having witnesses such a cruel act upon a loved one.

I pray that reporting that vet will result in action against him!  I cannot believe he could provide care on one hand and handle end of life in such a way.
