HOLD MY FEET TO THE FIRE! ACCOUNTABILITY TUESDAY
Accountability Mission: No Mercy and No Excuses
Tell the whole truth and be accountable. How do you feel about last week's results? Are you sticking to plan this week? If plan is not working for you, how are you dealing with it?
Use your resources. Nutritionist, surgeon, nurse practitioner, exercise therapist etc. If they are of no help then you've got to strike out on your own and do some research. We are each unique and some of us will never have results like most folks on the various forums. We will have to make our own way. We may find seemingly contradictory methods work best for us. All that matters is what results in is safe and effective weight loss and maintenance for you.
The opinions and theories out there on various forums mean little if they are not effective for you personally. Understand how you best loose the lbs and maintain your wl. Listen to what your body tells you
...All are welcome, jump in at anytime.

Protein Sparing Modified Fast (PSMF)
The no op version. This version is still severe but far more liberal than the one many pre ops are given.

Daily calorie needs calculator
A more advanced calculator that's still easy to use.
Advanced option lets you choose from 3 different calculation methods. Enter data once for calorie needs at maintenance; plus calorie needs for 2 different levels of weight loss; and, results include a week long calorie cycling plan. Calculator takes into account age and gender as well as activity level. Links to other calculators are on the same page.

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
Its just after midnight Tuesday and I would love to eat rather than just finish this last cup of tea. I'm posting now so if I do eat I will have to come clean when daylight dawns.
Monday
Did ok today. Calories, carbs, protein, ratios all on point. Finishing up on my 80 oz of liquids now. Had plenty of plain water. Now I must repeat to myself over and over "Please do not fkcu up before morning.".

Is that the show on A&E Molly posted about? Six months is realistic for most folks.
I hope it is not dehumanizing for our fellow strugglers. For once I would like to see obesity treated with the level of sensitivity we show meth addicts who've made buying decongestants a pain in the @$$ for an entire nation.
This is a really sore subject for me. I made an enemy my first day on a dating site forum because this idiot reduced obeseity surgery to the usual stereotypes. Oh well, no dates for me.
But seriously MsLee, doing the right thing does not work consistently for people like us. Docs may never figure it out in our life time so we've got to do our own research. Rcently I've discovered that ketogenic (higher fat) even if it is not low carb works better for me. Of course I have meds interfereing, but I am convinced that my holiday carb loading did not cause further weight gain because of this. I can do carbs if I keep fats at 50% or higher. However, personally I feel best on low carb.
My current program is based on the work of British researchers Profs Keckwick and Powan (spellngs likely off) and their experiments with 1000 calorie diets in the 1950's. They proved all calories were not created equal. Moreover, ketogenic diets have been proven safe in epileptics or decades now.
You know I will gladly organize and share my research. I need to pull it together on my blog. You're the professor so do that homework. We will both find our way.

A few years ago I became obsessed with researching and trying to find out why the hell my body would not let me lose weight. I read so many dam books and worked with dietians, doctors, endocrinologist, you name it and I could never ever find out why the hell my body will just not lose.
I have spent tons of money on it, and still nothing. I don't have the time I use to have, but I still read health stuff every now and then and most stuff I have tried. I find that everything now a days is geared toward eating low carb or on the low glycymic index. I use to eat low carb all the time and I still did not lose weight, my body just turned to jelly and I hated the way I looked.
I don't know what the issue is, and I don't know if I will ever find the answer but I have a ton of books in my closet to refer to.

I've been to that point myself. Repeatedly. I don't bother with the so called professionals unless I'm there for another reason and I can just throw this out there too. Most of the time these semi competent pros just assume the problem is all you anyway.
You are so right. Even atkins 30+ year critics are spouting low carb/ glycemic load these days. I don't do the book stores for research. All to be had is the current best selling trend. No real useful data. Just feed the wl industry $$$ machine.
I research clinical trials and such. Also, I read published research results of experiments recent and old. Its tedious and hard to understand and like translating another language. Every now and them I hit on something useful like the fat ratio thing.
Hopefully we are not too old to care we'll find our answers. While I'm waiting (hoping? praying?) for that to happen I'd like to have my body fat and metabolism measured. At least I'll know exactly how fat I really am and how many calories I burn in a day.

Since I am a morning person, I'm having my hot tea and first 32 oz of water right now. Food plan seems to be going ok. Its hard not to weight everyday but have been keeping to weekly. Everyday tends to make me do stupid things. Anyway hope we all do well this Tuesday.
Here's what I did yesterday.

Day 9 and still trying. Yesterday was pretty cool, but I woke up this morning a pound heavier. I am not going to cry a river about it and I am not going to give up. I know the scale can fluctuate. I still kept my cal. on point. I am thinking the light weights might have something to do with it. I did three arm exercises. three reps of 30 each, and I can feel it. I did my 30 mins of cardio, bu****er was not on point. Today is a new day and I am going to do my best to get in 64 ozs of liquid. I know I need more, but 64 is doable right now. Is tea part of water intake? Maybe some green tea?
I went to the dr. yesterday to check on my painful body parts. I should know something by the end of the week. For now no squats.
Hope you have a wonderful time. Leave that bedtime snacking alone.
