Who wears a ID Bracelet or necklace?

I guess this is sort of a piggy back off of Pokerchips post. It made me wonder if I really need to purchase and wear a ID tag of some sort as a WLS patient.  In the whole 7 years since my WLS, I never bothered. What do you all think? Do you wear one or have anxiety about not wearing one? I guess I have been taking it for granted that I would always be conscious if a medical issue arose and we all know that this might not necessarily be true. They do have some very fashionable ones on the market now too. I would like to hear the opinions of others. Thanks.

We should all wear one with our surgery type and a no blind gastric tube warning (there is specific abreviated medical terminology for this).

I've put it off repeatedly looking for the right style.  I have multiple issues so I need a charm bracelet, lol.

Becca and I both wear bracelets, but a few months ago they both broke almost at the same time and I just haven't taken the time to replace the.   But with our upcoming trip this summer i'm definately going to get new ones.

One time when I had to call the ambulance for a horrible asthma attack, the firemen and EMT's were commenting on how cool our bracelets were, they were really nice but I think i'm going to go with a different one this time because I was never really sure about the waterproofing of ours.

I wore one and with all of my other illnesses and allergies I found it a necessity . I stopped wearing it because it fell off of my wrist after I had lost all of my weight. I was in the er and hospital a lot the past 3 yrs and I founf a lot of people didn't notice it. I need about 3 bracelets to put the info that is needed for me. lol  I will be getting another one because I really need it with my other illnesses.

That's why I'm thinking charm  bracelet.  My life won't fit on a standard tag.  A noticeable caduceus as the center plate with each diagnosis and contact info on a separate charm around your wrist.  Tag can say see charms for details.

I don't wear a bracelet but for some reason I have always feared someone blindly placing a G tube.
So many of the new bracelets look so pretty I wonder if EMS or emergency rooms overlook them???

Pokerchips that's the reason I got a regular medical id bracelet so it wouldn't be perceived as jewelry. I don't wear jewelry except for a watch unless it's a special occasions and those are few and far in my life.

MSW, I never thought about the charms but that's smart. You can buy these little computer drive thingys with your medical info on it to put on a key ring. The only thing about this is downloading all of that medical stuff and since it's not mainstream I bet medical personnel won't know about. I don't carry keys since I don't have a vehicle. Who knows ?
