V'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
I did this as part of the pre op approval process. The version I included here is different. Its a diet plan intended for no ops. There are several versions around. In a nutshell: high protein, low fat, little of anything else.
As a no op I lost 14 lbs in five days and kept most of it off for the six months or so until my surgery. The version I did was more severe:
- 3 meals a day
- 3 oz of meat only at each meal
- a perscription potassium supplement
- at least 64 oz of water/ no caffine liquids
That's it. Its basically a version of the Stillman diet from back in the 70's. Meat only, portion control, water.

If I am anything I am introspective so I have discovered a lot about myself and how I have evolved over nearly two years. I also know that all evolution is not for the better.
My epiphany on The Feast of the Epiphany: While I've slimmed down I've also picked up several bad habits I did not engage in before wls. Food related habits that I had read about but not previously practice. Add these to my own dysfunctional eating behaviors and I am dooming myself in the long term. Only I have the ability to change this. Only I can be proactive and do something about it before it becomes habit. Only I can allow it to eventually destroy me.

Carbs are up there due to sugar alcohols. I over indulged in the fudgesicles, creamsicles, protein bars. Fortunately calories are under control and still in wl range. Ratios are where I need them with 50% of calories from fat. Liquids, 64 oz of diet soda and no plain water. Not good. Today I'll get back up to my full 80 oz with at least a pint of plain water.
