Regret
Let me preface these next statements with this: this is MY journey thus far. What I am sharing is for information only as I'm seeking support. I wish all the best to newbies and to pending sleevers.
I am two weeks out and am absolutely miserable.
- I feel like there is a lump in my throat with every sip I take
- Reflux / heartburn are killing me ... I'm coughing now because of them I think
- I am weak beyond belief
- I cannot sleep in prone position at night (I just doubled my dosage of Protonix so I hope that helps)
- I am suffering from a WICKED attack of gout (I have an appointment in the AM with a rheumatologist for steroids injections in the morning)
- Im feeling like Im having difficulty breathing for some reason ... like food and drink are backed up to my lungs ...
Folks, please tell me that all these things pass ... I hate to be a naysayer but it seems like some new problem pops up every day.

They will pass. Most of us have some level of discomfort mild or severe over the first several months. You'll get through your rough patch just like everyone else.
I will spare you my details and I am still bitter. In the end its part of the price I paid for getting to where wls was my only reasonable option.

Have no fear babe, it will pass. I was miserable for 4 weeks and had regrets too. I wondered if I had did the right thing. Then 6 weeks came and went and I never turned back again. I would do it again in a second. Just hang in there and have patience with your body. It has to adjust and heal. Keep us posted.
This period, along with "wishing I did it sooner", are the consistent regrets I found among wls patients while doing my research.
Sorry you're going through this dude. It is only for a season. Let your body heal and adjust and I promise you'll be rejoicing this time next year.
Be strong and encouraged.

Your feelings are understood and valid for the moment, give it a few weeks and lets see what the post script to this post will be. I can't say that I know how you feel because I don't. but I pray that you are feeling better in your skin real soon.
Sip liquids and sugar free popcicles as much as you can throughout the day. Walk as much as you can and talk to your surgeon about your physical concerns if you have a serious concern about how you are feeling.
The 1st few weeks have many people questioning their decision to have surgery but with time your body will adjust to your new plumbing. Keep a record of your journey to share with other newbies because in a couple of months you will forget how you are feeling at this moment....... really you will :) Peace & Blessings
