This time around...
I am 3 years post-bypass and I haven't weighed myself since 2007. I let the fit of my clothes be my guide. My size fluctuates from a 10 to a 12. But because of my body type, it looks as if I wear a 6 or an 8. I'm love my size 10s, but when my 12s start to fit me, I know I need to regroup. I refuse to weigh myself and I do not own a scale - never will again! My pre-bypass weight was 220.
Hi Tyree.......Embrace the scale!.......I weigh daily, and track my weight on a spreadsheet weekly. I weigh myself each morning and note it. I have traceked my weight each Monday morning since the very first date I decided to have wls. By doing this I have a visual snapshot of how and when I lose and gain. It has been gratifying to watch the numbers decrease over the months. It also gives me a snapshot of different indicators. Like how much I lost a year ago or a month ago. When I didn't follow my program as well and wasn't hydrated as well, I could tell when I was retaining fluids. I can track when and how long a was stuck and platued at a certain weight. I also measure at quarter intervals, because even though at times the scales didn't move, the inches did at times.
The thing with the scales is to not give it power to control your mind, but use it as a tool to enhance your program and keep you on track to your ultimate goals. I give myself like a 8-10 lb pocket where I flucuate between weight that I'm comfortable with. I reached goal months ago, and am working to maintain. As long as I'm in that pocket, it's all good and I don't trip when I put on a few pounds. I just know it's time to make some adjustments when I get outside that pocket of pounds. With this new tool, I sometimes work just as hard to not lose anymore as I do to not gain anymore.
Get on the scale......dont be scuuuurreedd!!....:-)
