I know there will be a thread or two about it coming up soon - LOL.
The theater I want to see it in that serves alcohol was sold out last night - I'll see what's up late night tonight or tomorrow.

I just got home from seeing it and honestly I don't see what the hype is all about. I grew absolutely bored with all the misplaced mini monologues in the scenes, I didn't see all the dynamics everyone was talking about.
I know some may want to say it was deep, but I wouldl need someone to take my by the hand and take me to the deep parts, cause I completely missed it.
There was one touching scene that I can count. The other was just to blatantly obvious to be touching..

Salty Pickle a.k.a. Lee
In reading Ntozake Shange's take on the film, one of her comments was the audience should keep in mind the movie is done from Perry's perspective and not hers. I found the play sad and just heart wrenching but also thought provoking. While I don't expect the movie to live up to the play I'm still looking forward to seeing it. Hopefully I won't be disappointed but sadly I usually am when books and theater take to the screen.

Lee I think if you read the book or even saw the play you might think differently. I saw it last night and I do understand who people were lost when it went from being the movie to being the book. They had no idea what the heck the ladies were talking about it. I have to stay that Tyler took on a very complicated book and did a pretty decent job of bringing it to the screen. Will be interesting to see what are other people's interpretations of the movie.
