I started out 378lbs I  get asked all the time by people why I can not just be happy where I am at after losing so much weight.  I usually reply no and mentally answer H*ll No! Not as long as a 2 is in front of my weight.  How do you feel on this matter could you be happy in the low 200's? I just feel like I came to far to give up now.

Ok, so I was not quite as heavy but I get your point.  Hell no you can't be content until you are content.  Anything above your personal goal is not good enough.  Screw them all and focus on your personal best.

You have to do what is good for you, so if you want to get to 175, then do not give up.  You can do it!  It is going to take work on your part to do it.  Up your exercise, increase your intensity.   Eliminate carbs.  Really look at what you are doing to reach your goals and tweak it.  Your honeymoon period is probably over so you will have to work it now and if you do not give up you will reach your goal of 175.

Also, don't listen to people telling you how good you look at your current size.  Sure you probably do look good, but you can look better.  People started telling me that crap at 310 because I use to weigh over 600.  At 310 I am still morbibly obese and I am not giving up.  Don't fall for it.  You want to make you happy with yourself.  I had dreams of being in 100's but I have given that up for now.  When I get to 220, I will see if I want to go farther.  I really feel you can get to the 100's at least and you should not give up on that goal if you are not happy with your current size.

Hope this helps!! You can do it!

I started out at 372 when I had surgery Feb 2007.
My Dr. never gave me a goal.  He did say I would probably only loose 100lbs.  I was soooooo upset over that.

I then set my own goal....not a weight, but a size....18.

When I got there, I was happy, but still in the 200's.

I am now at 217 - 220 and pretty satisfied at where I am.  For *ME* that's where I am content at.  I don't really care about being below 200....although it would be nice.  At my age (47) I feel if I loose too much more, I will look old as hell!

I'll take my size now for $100...as opposed to being below 200 and looking old as Methuselah!  LOL

I say all that to say...only YOU know what feels right and comfortable for YOU! So go for it...you have already done an EXCELLENT job....go for PHENOMENAL!  You can do it!

Crazy thing is I have NEVER made it to my goal of 150... My lowest was 151 and I am now 153, I mean looking at my stats that is great right, but I still do not feel right until I see 150 and lower on the scale... Sad thing is I could have been there... Never get content, even if you made it to goal and never get satisfied because it might cause you to relax and not pay attention... I am not saying obsess over it like I do but def stay on board with it... I am sure you will make it.

Oh how I agree with you!!  I started out at 392 when I first looked into the surgery and was 366 day of my surgery wearing a tight 28 - loose 30's.  Now, I'm 11 months post op weighing 250 and wearing a size 12.  People keep telling me that I don't need to lose anymore weight.  Hello, I'm still considered "OBESE" on the BMI charts and I want to be in a healthier range than what I'm in.  When I go back to see my surgeon next month I'll talk to them about it - they never set a goal for me and I realistically couldn't set one for myself either.

I do want to be out of the "200" range and at least 185-190 BUT with the way my body is losing the weight I can't truly see myself at that weight.  Hell, what size would I be wearing - I'm 5'10 and I don't think I'd look healthy/good wearing single digit clothes, but that's not my main concern.  As long as I'm healthy that's all that matters.  But I will try to get to that "below 200" range and go from there.

I hear it everday. My aunt and I work together. We both had surgery late last year. I'm 5'10 & she's 5'3. She didnt have as much weight to loose and is at her goal. My anniversary is this weekend and I didnt make goal yet but I'm not giving up. She tells me all the time that I look good and I should be fine where I am. NOT!!

Highest weight 334
Surgery weight 318
Current weight 234 ish

I lost a lot of weight and I feel good about it so far but I need to get to 180. And I won't stop til I get there.

Good luck!
