I didn'****ch all of it - but I did DVR it so that I can view it in its entirety this weekend.

I did see the part with the guy and his wife in the house without paying their mortgage for like, 2 years - THAT is some bullshyt!!!!!  This type of thing really ****** me off because *I* chose a home that fit my lifestyle AND I thought past that day and chose something in a price range that even if I ended up on unemployment...... I could pay.  These mofos got the blown out house and are now stuck $$ wise, but still have some feeling as if they still deserve the house,,....... NOT!!!

I saw the following program with the studies of children's impression of race and my heart BROKE when the little black girl talked about her own darker skin as 'nasty'   I joke about being light skinned and 'in' - but EVERY little girl ought to have a princess complex and know in their HEART and SOUL that they are beautiful........

The parts I saw were VERY interesting - on an ending note - the fact that Blacks are more optimistic about the economy despite being hit harder than Whites and the whole 'having faith' about things improving............... well - I'm not going to say how I REALLY feel, but let's just say my Republican side bristled at that......

Mack,

I watched the second program to with the study and I got very upset at first but then my heart heart went out for that little girl too. Both of my sons are handsome but one just happens to be dark and one not so dark and from the beginning I had to convince my darker son that he was handsome and for him to be comfortable in his own skin. I did teach him about the racism and not just from other cultures but from his own race also. Thank God he is well adjusted.

Well get your protein shakes and sugar-free popcorn ready cause it will have you glued to the tube, Yo.

High end squatters.    That's all they were.

The man was *****whipped to the highest degree in my opinion.  He probably wanted out of that joint back when they started falling behind but listening to his wife's emotional BS he just dropped his head and went along with the flow.  What a dumbazz!

Americans, particularly African-Americans, have forgotten how to save for that rainy day because for the past 20 years they were putting all of their purchases on "the card."   Plain and simple.

you ain't lying!!!!  I went chapter 7 at age 22 - talk about a life lesson.  I just now am getting out of consumer debt from credit cards and loans I had AFTER the bankruptcy - single parenthood and home ownership ain't easy, greasy!  LOL

But - I can say I finally let go of the need to prove myself through material shyt.  I went to therapy and learned quite a bit about myself, and the more upset I would get - the bigger thing I would buy.  I got in a fight with my BF one time and researched buying a damn SUV!!! My best friend was like 'WTF is you doin?  Gas is $3 a gallon!!!' - I had to have a moment of realism.

And that situation with the couple was just further reason and evidence of why I do NOT want to be married!!!!!

Have you seen "I Love My Hair" from Sesame Street?

In this publicity image released by Sesame Street, ...

Don’t need a trip to the beauty shop,
’cause I love what I got on top.
It’s curly and it’s brown and it’s right up there!
You know what I love? That’s right, my hair!
I really love my hair.
I love my hair. I love my hair.
There’s nothing else that can compare with my hair.
I love my hair, so I must declare:
I really, really, really love my hair.
Wear a clippy or in a bow
Or let it sit in an afro
My hair looks good in a cornrow
It does so many things you know, that’s why I let it grow
I love my hair, I love my hair
I love it and I have to share
I love my hair, I love my hair!
I want to make the world aware I love my hair.
I wear it up. I wear down. I wear it twisted all around.
I wear braids and pigtails too.
I love all the things my hair can do.
In barrettes or flying free, ever perfect tresses you’ll see
My hair is part of me, an awesome part of me
I really love my hair!

AWWWWW!  I love this!!!!

truth be told - my mom gave me a complex about my lips growing up.  Soup coolers she would call them - she told me to practice holding them in some so they wouldn't look so big - and when I started wearing lipstick, she told me not to put it all the way to the edge.  Still to this day I cannot wear red lipstick and be comfortable.

Kids' self image is SO major - life is hard enough without made up bullshyt in your head.

Do you know how many women pay good money to get chemicals injected into their lips so they can look like you?   You might need to re-think that.

Ayy yo DA,

OMGoodness, I have a lot to say about what I watched. First, I would I live right down the street from First Baptist of Lincoln Gardens. It was interesting to see that they were highlighted on the show. Ok enough about that, lets get down to the nitty gritty of the matter.

The Jeffries: How in the hell does someone NOT pay their mortgage for 26 months and still have their house and then expect someone to help them out of that bind? They refinanced two times, FOR WHAT??? They didn't say why, they just said they refinanced twice. Also, they specifically said they were not victims of predatory lending so uhm what the flyin fluck was wrong with that picture??? Can someone say "Living beyond their means"....

The young boy that was going to Kean U..Why in de heyll did he take out $16,000 worth of loans in his first year of college? Can we say "Misinformed".... He is going to school for acting. First, he originally DID NOT get accepted into Kean (which is one of the easiest universities to get accepted to in NJ). That tells me he was/is not ready for a university. He should have gone to a community college (we do have some very good ones here in NJ) to get his grades in order and then moved on to a four year school. Damn shame!!! The pastor pulled strings for him to get into Kean because he called the president of the school. SMH!!! Lets see how long he goes to Kean without dropping out.

Uhm, lets talk about the gentleman who lost his job at 58 years old: Lord, will someone please tell him that NO ONE is going to hire him at the age of 60 but McDonald's or Burger King. He is due to retire soon. If he did want to get a job in his field of choice, first thing they should have advised him on was to dye his beard so he wouldn't look so old and then maybe he would have had a chance to get a half way descent job. Why didn't someone school him on that fact. The pastor pulled strings for him also but they didn't say what his outcome was at the end. (we already know what his outcome was..still unemployed)

The program was good because I know a lot of people seen themselves in all of the ones highlighted on the show. But will "our" people change? That still remains to be seen.

I have much more to say but I am just too lazy to type it this morning, but I just had to get that out. I know you want to chime in DA.

LMAOOOOO - I missed the refinance part - them mofos KNEW better.  Owning a home is not an American entitlement!!!!!

As for 60 yr old homie - I'm wondering why he isn't trying to be a consultant or contractor.  Companies will jump on that because they aren't bound to the insurance and other issues with perm employees - he wouldn't have coverages or other benefits - but he'd get a check - I didn't see anything in the program about that.  Plus - and ummm - yea - yall gone hate me for this BUT - a lil less praying and meditating in the morning and more working around things might help a lil bit.... yeah yeah - I know we don't know the whole story - and I know we shouldn't judge.....whatever.

As for the acting dude -  WHY the hell doesn't he have more than one piece to use?  LOL - not that he wasn't good - but his portfolio rested on that one monologue from what they showed - looks to me like homie needs real help to be prepared no matter what he goes into.  And majoring in business doesn't mean you'll own one - I want him to get that conclusion out his head too.
