Ive been having diarrhea a lot and ive been eating salads, high protein, low carbs, and a lot of veggies. I havent really had a cookie in 7 months. I totally nixed soda outta my life. I only drink water or viatamin water. Im currently having an issue at my job ( i work at a call center) and they arent really giving me health breaks to use the bath room more frequently anymore and my doctor office that did the surgery said that i shouldnt have this issue 7 months out and that it's what im eating. however, im on a new lifestyle change and i havent eaten nothing that hasnt been to atkins diet regime.. I dont know what to do.  I want to know if this has happened to anyone else? Oh yea I had the RNY

First get a doctor's note about those trots so you don't have further job issues.

Second, have your surgeon's office reviwed your menus?  If they are saying its what you eat they should be able help you pinpont the cause.

Do you track your foods?  If not start tracking and look for patterns.  It will help you and your doc to zero in on what's going on.

Im a very picky eater and im allergic to a lot of foods..

I eat the same thing every single day.
ive explained this to them and they refused to give me a doctors note.
stating that I should not have these issues at all and that they arent going to give me a note.
They told me to go to my primary doctor to get the note (confused...yes!)

so, im wondering if others are having the same issue with a lot of diarrhea?

OK, I get it now.  Sorry for answering the rong question.  I hope this is more helpful.

I did have the runs a little earlier out than you are.  No real 'cause' I could determine but it did not interfere with my life.  Foods like sf puddings and protein bars worsened it (sugar alcohols).  I did not use an anti trot med because I feared constipation.  It eventually went away on its own.  My 'habits' took awhile to adjust to a more normal pattern.

What a bas-turd your doc is being!  Even if he can't resolve it he could as your doctor confirm an issue exists.  Some docs aer so araid of a mal practice suit every thing is a threat of admission of culpability.  SMDH.

I have (do) have this problem often. Some foods
for no apparent reason will just give me the quick runs.
Today it was a bowl of wtermelon, usually it's ok
but not today.  The only thing I have found to do is
take Immodium (and I take a lot) when I know I will
need it.  I also take Devrom so that if I do go the
odor won't cause a building evacuation.

My doctor also told me this shouldn't be happening
he thought it was what I was eating too.  I too stayed
on Atkins the first 4 years after surgery.  Hope you
find something that works for you soon.

Thats the fear that I am having because I am consistantly going to the restroom and it's impacting my job; where my doctor for the surgery is stating that even though im 7mos out I should not have these issues but in the same sentence that everyone reacts to the surgery differently.

However, My primary doctor explained to me that I had a stomach bacteria back in feb 10 before my surgery and if my baricatric doctor had resloved the issue during my surgery per the labs. I had called the bariactric center about it and they said that they did not see any issues with a bacteria and if I am going to use my primary doctor to take care of me then I need to refer to her care solely.

It's like the same foods I consistantly eat are the same foods causing the runs mostly.
I cant eat a lot of  different foods cause my stomach would hurt, I would dump, or the runs. Im just waiting on my labs results to figure out what is happening to me; so I can fix this issue.

Currently, my job is using this woman who had RNY as a primary example of the wloss surgery because she has no complications, no dumping, no apparent issues for the poster child of the surgery.

But I would take ya'lls lovely advice and see what happens.

Try adding a probiotic. You can get it as a supplement or yogurt.

Do you still have your gallbladder?

Meso & Wonkad,

You ladies are always so smart and well informed about all the seemingly little things.  That is until its not so little anymore.  It was not my question but thanks for the potential solutions.  I'm sure one day it will hit me again.
