Freakin Out (Kinda Long)

OK so I have had the band since July 28. I have not had a fill as my doctor says I'm doing great without it....20lbs down from surgery date. Almost three weeks ago I started having lower abdominal pain on my right side. I went to the doctor they said it was menstrual cramps. Whatever cause they never felt like that before. Went to my follow up with the surgeon who says its not the band and I need to see my primary physician. Went to him cause its been two weeks of pain. He thinks its an ectopic pregnancy or some womanly thing going on. Have an exam with negative results. Sends me to have an ultra sound-normal. Today he sends me to have a cat scan. I come in from being outside and have 5 missed calls from my moms house and the doctors office (because I didn't answer they call the emergency contact). I call back knowing it is bad because the doctor doesn't call that much. ..

The nurse states its a band problem, They have forwarded the info to my surgeon. WTF!!! I called the surgeon at 6pm as the nurse states she doesn't know anything about the band but that the problem needs to be fixed with surgery. WHY are you calling me then. She states my primary physician left a note stating "its discontinued." What the hell does that mean? Of course I get a call back from a new *****y nurse that states "you just talked with a nurse 15 min ago did something change?" Yea the first idiot didn't know what she was talking about and I need to know whats going on! Her tone changes and says I will contact the surgeon and will call you back. Well as luck will have it my surgeon is in surgery and it will be about an hour but he will call me back personally. The time is killing me knowing that something is wrong and I need to go into surgery to have it corrected.

I know it's easy for me to say but just pray and every thing will work out.  Because the surgeon did not tell you to immediately go to an emergency room that's a good sign that it is a problem that can be taken care of soon but not as an immediate surgery tonight.  I don't have a band so I don't know from personal experiences therefore all I can say to you is relax and listen with a clear head to the surgeons explanation.  Ask as many questions necessary to make you feel comfortable.

Thank you. I needed that reality check. Its so easy to forget to pray about things your immediately going through. My husband reminded me that it could be worse and I thank God its not!

Update, surgeon called back states that the report shows my tubing detached from the port. I need to see him first thing in the morning and we will schedule surgery from there.

Praying for a quick and painless surgery as well as a quick recovery to get you back to the healthy loser's bench. 

So sorry about your situation.  The doctor would have told you to go right to emergency and contacted your surgeon himself if this required immediate surgery.  The waiting is hard but hang tough.  Thankfully youwere persistent.

I can totally understand why you are freaking out.  But if it was really bad you would be in surgery right now.  So please calm down and pray.  I am praying that all turns out well.  Keep us updated.
