CHEATING (LONG POST)

That is so true.  You need to manage carbs as you reintroduce them.  Atkins books spell that out.  Regain comes from returning to old habits (and that's why diets just don't work).

My surgeon instructs patients to limit the simple starchy carbs to one small serving daily after your work out.  Carbs should primarily come from fruit and veg.

I low carbed for a decade.  Its when I stopped and started eating per the food fda pyramid that I became obese.  Carbs as a nutritional base is just not right for my carb sensitive make up.  Thankfully, RNY helps me stick to the "right" carbs.

YOu know it's not just the cheat but the dehydration you suffered as well causing you to bloat etc.  Cheat meals instead of days is a good future plan!!

You are lucky to ME cause I can gain 4lbs just going on a drive out the county.  I went on a mini vacation for a weekend didn't "cheat" but didn't get my normal water in.  I came back and on Monday weighed almost 10lbs more...ridiculous the way I bloat.

(Alex).... I haven't heard it called that since we last visited my hubby's family in Colfax.

Now onto the carbs and cheat days. I sooooo feel you. I was having the stomach pain for months and they gave me meds so I could eat but that rx made me extremely constipated. I was in pain either way. We had a financial situation where all we had to eat is Ramen noodles with tuna. I have gained weight and I'm so bloated and upset. I've been steady at 172-175 for over 6 months. I have weighed between 176-181 within the last week. I am scared to death because I was comfortable at a lower weight. I know with my height I can weigh more and be ok but it's not okay for me. I think cheat meals will help you not to go overboard. When we have the groceries, I go overboard and eat anything. I've got to get this under control NOW!!!!!  Thanks for sharing and being so honest.

I knew if you saw Alex you would understand LOL...it is so much quicker to say it!  I know I try to tell myself not to overdo but why must carbs be so good!!!  I hope you and your family will recover soon.
