BOD POD (X-POST)
A few questions for those who have had their metabolism and body composition measured with this device:
- What information was provided?
- How have you used that information.
- What did it cost?
- Was it worth the expense?

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
I've had it done and it only checked my body composition not my metabolism. A separate device was used for my metabolism.
From memory all I got was body fat and lean muscle mass results.
The Bod Pod was free since it was part of a study that I'm participating in. The metabolism test was also free but they told me I could get it for $75 if I ever needed it again.
I didn't see much of a difference between my scale at home and what information the Bod Pod gave.

I got an RMR calculation. We determined from that I have a naturally low metabolism and I would have never lost the weight without WLS.
I think having the RMR done is more important. It will tell you how efficient your body is and how you should handle your caloric intake. I have to stay in what is considered the the diet range for people with normal metabolisms. To lose weight I have to stay low calorie which is around 800 or so and low carb... 20-30 carbs per day.
I found my printouts from the Bod Pod and the RMR.
