I have used both.  I don't really have a preference.  I can tell you this...for me...I have to be careful on the sugar subs.  When I have too much I tend to not lose any weight.

That's tru for a lot of folks.  I tried eliminating them but it makes no difference for me.  I'm going liquid because it is zero carb.  When I want to get into ketosis the amount of splenda I use thwarts my efforts.  RNY has left me loving thing sweet.  Ain't that a *****

Wow...I'm learning so much here today about this Splenda.  I use it because I have to have my coffee sweet, and cereal, etc.  What I didn't know was that Splenda could slow the weight loss down.  Perhaps I over looked that somewhere.  Perhaps that's why I've had a heck of a time loosing these last 25 pounds.  Wow!

I need to really consider lowering my intake of Splenda.  I've tried Stevevia which is supposed to be the most natural of all, but the aftertaste is just too much for me.

Well, as we continue to live, we just keep on learning - don't we?!  :)  Thanks so much for the question, the answers, and the insight!

God bless,
Rose

While zero calories per packet splenda has 96 calories per cup.  I verified it on splenda's wbsite.

Splenda's Real Nutritional Information: An Update to the Sweetener Post

Those tricky nutritional labels. I did the comparison of Sweet Perfection to Sugar and Splenda and used the nutritional information on the Splenda box. Well, I remember reading that Splenda did have some carbs, so I did a backup email to the company.  Turns out I was right. I have updated the Sweet Perfection post as well. (Those calories do add up, and Sweet Perfection compares much better than before.)

I am enclosing the email:

You're awesome!  This article has opened my eyes.  I have got to cut back on the amount of Splenda that I use per cup of coffee.  I like my sweetness, so even though 1 packet = 4 calories, which according to their article, would be considered "no calorie", when I use more than one pack in a 1 cup, now I'm making my own drink a "caloric" drink.  Oh my goodness...what an eye opener!!!  I'm wiser and sad at the same time!  LOL!!!  SO - I guess I'll have to make some changes.  I will experience the bad and the good; the bad - I'll no doubt go through some withdrawal of getting use to a lessor sweet drink (yuk), BUT the good - I'll finally be able to possibly loose these last 25 pounds that have been haunting and taunting me for over a year now (Hallelujah)!

Thanks again! :)
