DEXA scan results - and no - it ain't pretty
To me - that 'healthy comes in all forms' is the precursor to the slide.... you know the slide - the one we ALL went down and ended up needing WLS.
Have I mentioned how I HATE the mental side of this WLS journey? LOL!!! this SUCKS!!!

Girl, you're an inspiration to me!!! Hell, I'm wishing that I can be where you are 5 years post-op...with the medical issues I've had since surgery ANY loss is a plus factor in our (mine & surgeon) books!!!
In my opinion, a TRUE failure wouldn't have lost ANY weight or regained ALL of what they've lost plus some!! THIS IS NOT YOU BY ANY MEANS!!!!
So what if you're at a 42% body fat - hell we can't see it in your photos...you look healthy to me. Don't let that number come to mean more than what it is. You're active, watching what you consume and apparently more fit at this 42% fat at 215 pounds than you were at ??% fat and 185 pounds!!!
Keep on doing what you know is right...numbers aren't everything - they just factor into your overall health with everything else like you physical activity and medications you don't take.
So, if you consider yourself a big, fat ass failure at 42%, 32.7 BMI, then GIRL, I need to float down this river Hurricane Hermine has made in my back yard and beat some sense into you!!! YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE TO YOUR BAF FAMILY!!! YOU'RE A SUCCESS STORY, INSPIRATION TO US!!!
OK, you were allowed this steam release...now focus on what you can do since your weight loss, not this number and percentage!!!
Have you seen yourself since yesterday? i have, and you're smaller. Maybe you need new batteries in that scale, cause it must be wrong
*queue the silent reflection on my part*
No worries, tho - I am going to stay on the grind - that is a sure freakin thing!!! This half marathon in November is my ultimate goal - I pull that bad boy off - and it's all song and dance after that. thanks for the reply lady!!!!

When I had my underwater dunking at 5'6 and 345lbs I was 50% fat. There is NO way you could be 42% fat that's what 90lbs of you is fat...nope don't believe it.
I didn't FULLY read about the Dexa but nope still won't believe it..
On a side note I already KNOW you gonna stay in the fight so I can't wait to read about the ACCOMPLISHMENT of your 10K this weekend!!
NOW tell me about this running game and shoes and **** cause I need to know =)
Ms Shell
get this - according to the test, my legs are 46% fat. Now - my pride and JOY is my legs - I can shut a club DOWN with the right dress and heels with these legs - I am awestruck at the 46% measurement.
as for the running game and shoes - it all depends on your feet. Saucony.com has a great tool that lets you enter your needs and tells you what type of shoe you need to support your feet. That's critical - the right RUNNING (not cross training) shoe will save you from shin splints, knee problems and a lot of other issues. I am about to buy a second pair myself - the first several weeks I started, I ran in Ascics cross trainers and was headed for a world of hurt - switched out and boom - it's been smooth sailing since. My other suggestion is that you find a store that specializing in athletic shoes - not just Foot Locker. Get professionally fitted - they do that for free, then write down the recommended shoe and get your google on! lol - that's what I did for babygirl - well, my mom did- got her fitted for a $100 paif of New Balance that we found online later for $50 and free shipping.

Thanks for the website! I do have a store it's called RoadRunner so I will be checking it out cause my shoes have HAD it and I bought them 100lbs ago.
MS Shell
if your shoes are from 100lbs ago - then you are overdue for a refitting. I had trouble balancing when I first started trying to run - discovered I was running in shoes 1/2 size too BIG - and it's hard to run when your feet are concerned about whether they can STAY in the dayum shoe! LOL - get thee to a store QUICK!!!!
other tip - and I stole this from my homie - if you have 'boobage dribble' problems (I'm a 40DD) - wear 2 sports bras - it's a little annoying to layer them, but it works - I wear a racing back and a front zip closure over it - works like magic!

I did stay in bed this morning tho - ONLY because I am running Saturday no matter WHAT!

You have done the damn thing girl. It'll be a year for me tomorrow and I'm still trying to hit 250lbs. Like you, I started @ 386lbs and also 5'8...actually 5'7 3/4 ....with my highest being 395lbs. I was a big ole something. I WISH my BMI was 32.7.
Keep doing what you are doing and lean on your accomplishments thus far and not the numbers. You are an inspiration to many, believe that.
