I looked at this a different way.  He was attempting a Mulligan which is a do over.  Maybe middle school is where is went off the path and he wanted to go back and straighten it out. Middle school is just too far back...elementary school is too.   If you look at the other stories linked to this article the other guys who did the same thing didn't have any cruel intentions... they just wanted to be the best at something finally in their lives.  Really kind of sad... I'm glad none were child predators.  The child predators always get caught because they aim for elementary school which a grown person can't pull off no matter how young they look.

Oh I get it now...  He was trying to institute his own personal 21 Jumpstreet program at the school and his cover was football.

Hey T! Its possible. I did read that he finished high school. Perhaps...he hung up on the sports thing or perhaps he is mentally challenged BUT one thing for certain....hes a smoooooth con-artist as well as into the robbery thing. Hes' got some sense. Yessireee..of course I am just going by what I have read  but I think hes smart enough where he could have done more with that desire. Heck they have football leagues all over the place. Then again...he perhaps wanted to be somewhere where he would for sure be applauded for his skillz....as you suggested a Mulligan...a lot of positive reinforcement (accolades).  I could understand the mental lapse BUT still one thing I know. I would have been highly P.O's to put it politily if I learned my 13 year old son's friend (whose been sitting in my living room playing my Wii, eating my sammiches, munching my popcorn & drinking up all my Crystal Light) happens to be 21 years old!!!!!!!! Ummm...let's see how good you are at getting my foot out of your a@ss
