I think it helps you get your head straight.  You really feel your restriction and that made me focus and eat less.  Good luck, you will breeze right through it.

I tried this once when I was going through a crazy eating phase.  I didn't do the whole 5 days though.  I did Day 1 & 2 and then went back to my normal pouch routine.  That was all I needed.  If I would have stayed on it any longer, I would have started feeling deprived and pigged out big time.

Everybody is different though.  Listen to your body and you'll feel what is right for you.

Best wishes!

If you are doing this to try to break a carb addiction your playing yourself, all stuff ike this does is turn you into a carb monster after it's done.  The way to deal with carbs is to learn to live with them.

I am actually doing this just to prove to myself that I can to be honest.  I feel like food has became to important to me again so I need a little deprivation in my life to show myself I can live with out all the junk.  When I limited the bad carbs and focus on the actual nutritional value of the food I am consuming I feel and look better. So I agree I have to learn to live with them in a healthy way. Thanks

So instead of proving to yurself that you can deprive yourself of food,  just deprive yourself of the junk.

Don't listen to me, I'm still dam fat,  i'm just not a fan of all the craziness I did before WLS because it seems like it's going down the same slippery slope, and I have tried all this stuff since I had WLS and it just doesn't work, well it does for a week or so, but I don't sacrafice muscle for craziness because i'd rather be a little bigger and firm than skinny and flabby.

That's just me.   I hate the protein train too.   LOL   But you already know that.

I would not call staying under 1600 calories failure.
