I visit this forum often, and I really get amazed at the b4 and after pics, how peeps look so young and full of life..I love it.  I even notice that I dont see folks on here with a lot of complications, not saying there arent any, but when I go to other forums, it seems others have a lot of complications after surgery(mostly white) and there b4 and after pic's they look like they have aged. kinda weird to me. but as the saying goes, Black dont crack...keep the pic's coming, need all the inspiration I can get. Looking to have RNY surgery end of Oct/early Nov..Good luck to all on the forum wishing everyone success on their WL journey..Peace & Blessings...

Black may not crack but it does sag in places, lol.  This board has its share of complications but we learn from and encourage each other.  I think we all look awesome post op.  For the most part we looked pretty good pre op too.  I can't think of anyone on BAF who was just a hot mess in their before pics.  I've seen pics on other boards where folks clearly don't care what they look like.

Seriously though, the bigger and more active the forum the more complications you'll see.  Less common procedures will have fewer complaints than more common procedures.    Its just the numbers.

You'll likely see the most issues with rny and lap/ realize bands.   They are still the most common procedures.  Together perhaps 85% of wls in US and Canada?  Some would have you believe there is a such thing as 100% satisfaction but no procedure fits that description.

I have not posted a single picture yet but I am hoping to get some up within the next few days.  So disorganized......

There could always be complications from any surgery.  I decided early on (before surgery) that I was going to play it by the book and follow the instructions of the surgeon and nut.  Things have gone well.

Everyone tells me that I look twenty years younger.  A few people have said that I look and move now like a teenager.  Now I am experiencing some of the things that I should have done as a teenager........but never did because I was overweight.

This is the first time in my life that I have not been overweight or obese.   What a blessing.  Is there some sagging?  At age 59 and a lifetime of my skin being stretched.  Yes.  But at this point, I will take it.  Happy and healthy (all at the same time) is wonderful.

I love providing inspiration to others.  I could not have made it this far on my own.
