Shield yourself from your triggers.
Are there trigger foods that get you every single time? All you have to do is smell them, or see them, and the next thing you know you're licking your fingers and savoring the lingering flavor. If you're like most WLS patients, though, you find that other than the fleeting moment of bliss you experience as you bite into the trigger food, you feel disappointed in yourself. And fear of completely losing control sets in. Why can't you resist that temptation?
It doesn't matter why. Food is tempting, and certain foods are nearly irresistible. So what can you do? Shield your senses from the most alluring foods. If you don't see it, and you can't smell it, you are much less likely to eat it. Create a safety zone in which you do not have to see, smell, and resist trigger foods all the time.
Action for the day: Choose a trigger food that has been enticing you recently. Remove it from your house today. If you think this will be difficult for you, enlist the help of a trusted friend. Have him or her come over and help you get rid of the trigger food.

ROFLMAO because this is the clusterfkcu I created for myself yesterday. My trigger is not a food. Its anything in a package of single serving packeges. Anything at all.
So what do I do? I'm at my favorite market and I buy the single serving ten pack so I start going through them one by one. If I did not have to sleep I'd have eaten the entire package.
I've gotten rid of the rest. Now just to never buy this packaging again for the rest of my life.
Overeaters Ananymous basic:
ADMIT I AM POWERLESS OVER FOOD.
Heaps and heaps on a platter I can pass up no problem. Excess amounts of food turn my stomach these days. Just put those single serving packs on that same platter and I am screwed. The greedy fat girl takes over. I wish I'd read this before hitting the market yesterday

LV'N MY RNY. WORKING FOR ME BECAUSE I WORK FOR IT.
I hear you. The single packs only works for certain foods for me. Once I see I can not control myself even with the single servings of something I really like I leave it be the next time.
I also have this problem with the cheese sticks. I eat 2 to 4 of those in an hour. So what I have decided is I am going to wait for winter or fall so I can leave in my car and get 1 or 2 for house or work at a time. This worked last year....:-) And at work I only eat 1 or 2. This post was a good reminder for us all.
