  Hello thearea friends and neighbors!  It's mid-morning here in Houston, hotter than panther **** already and since my boss cancelled the morning meeting in which I intended to bullshyt away via homie network email, I's here!!!!!   Somebody has GOT to be out there with some topic at the ready for some interesting conversation - so come with it!!!!!  Any relationship questions, family issues or other situations?  World topics, local happen'ins...... whatever....

Oh Lord. Can't believe I'm gonna open myself up for this.

So I've never been the type tp casually date. Always happy to be single unless there was someone in particular I was interested in. How do you get yourself to casually date? Have more than one person you're invloved with at a time. I'm thinking I might have missed out on a lot in my 20's.

Now - #1 – WHY must you be so focused?  When you are looking for a job, do you ONLY apply to one place and wait until they tell you no before you apply elsewhere?  If you get to the interview stage, do you ONLY do one interview?

 

#2 – how do you know you’re interested until you casually date? LOL! I mean, what qualifies for ‘interested’ – and are you mentally sizing mofos up for tuxedoes before you even agree to dinner and a movie???

 

#3 – even if you DO casually date, are you thinking that MUST include casual…um…. ‘fand-dango-ing’???  There soooo many shades and textures of knowing and interacting with a person – why must you only do anything at all with one person at a time?  I mean, you multitask at work, you’re a nurse, right?  I couldn’t imagine you only being able to do something for one patient at a time until that whole thing was done – you’d be waiting for the first mofo you saw to DIE…… (maybe that was a bit dramatic, sue me )

 

ANYHOO – I don’t think you have a problem with ‘casual dating’ so much as you need to sit back and think about how you view and evaluate relationships….period.  And get to the root of why you have the perception that you’re so ‘locked in’ or tied down to a person so early – THEN you can break open some other issues.

I think a big part of it is I might wanna have some babies before my eggs all dry up and turn to dust.

I've always been the fat chick so I'm very comfortable being in the 'friend' mode. So based on that and convos had in said mode, it makes it pretty easy to figure out whether or not someone falls into the category of what you might want more than dinner and a movie companion. Feel me?

And when did it become a problem knowing what you want? Hmmm?

Thank goodness I was all geared up for a #1MM ass whipping.

Knowing what you want is just fine…. Knowing what you want and then turning into a heat seeking missile with target lock for every mofo you meet is a whole ‘nother issue…. LOL!!!!

 

I think you cast your net to close to your boat.  So WHAT if you hang out with someone who turns out to be a ‘dud’?  A few dates, movie, dinner – blah blah – so what?  Technically you’re wasting the same amount of freaking time ALONE and dinner-less. So are you REALLY splitting hairs with me on the difference????

 

And please – stop – don’t even go there with *high pitched imitation voice* ‘My time is very valuable and I don’t wanna just date ANYBODY’

EXPERIENCE more in life than just what you can see in front of your nose!!!!
