The worst????? ( long sorry)

had my 2 month check up yesterday and it was very revealing and dissapointing. I have lost abour 1.25 lpbs a week on average if you concider the stall that lasted two weeks......MY Doctor said that I possibly have the worst numbers of any sleeve patient he has had.  I thought that I was doing good to try to get 70 grams of  protein and at least 60 oz of water , even though most of the time I felt full and uncomfortable.
So first I start beating myself up figuring that I have had the surgery for nothing and I start balling like a baby!

Converstations with my doctor ant nut  reveal several things .....
1.  I have got toget out of this caregiving mode that I am in.........I said in a very early post that my sister , who lives with me is very jealous of my decision to have  the surgery and  the work that I put in to eat right. She always have some nasty thing to say when i go to the gym ,so I feel guilty if I go to  the gym instead of going straight home.  She doesn't have an income and I can't afford to pay for a membership for her. She says that she also wants to lose weight  , so I feel bad about that! the reality is that there are many parks in my neighbor hood and she has all day to walk if she wants to, but I still let her get to me !

2. I am still having this problem with my bowels sooo I am probably full of s*****!  I am packed pretty bad , so the recommendation is that I start with prunes and plum juice to natrually  move it  and then to begin a regiment of miralax for regularity.

3. the third thing  was to change my eating habits ...appearantly in my effort to meet the number of protein I have been adding about 400 calo9ries that I do not need .....so here is  a days food
breakfast _ 2 eggs and either 2 sloces of bacon  or a couple of spoonsful of grits
1 muscle milk
lunch_ 3_4 0z of meast ....fish, meatloaf , chicken salad a couple of crackers/ maybe 1/4 subway meatball sub ...no bread( not all at once, one or the other)
1 muscle milk
dinner ,,,3-4 oz of baked  chicken, fish and sometimes a small amnt of vegetables. squash, greens , cabbage  mostly on a good a day maybe a very small peice of corn bread.

the  suggestions  is to  first change  my protien supplement with something that has less calories .....muscle mill has 220.then to only have one shake and to use it as a meal replacement

the last thing is my love for moscato I have two 8 oz glasses in the evening again adding unwanted and uneeded calories about 375 to 400
So I feel really bad, but I also feel really  great ,I know that I can turn this thing around and I feel that my surgeon really cares if I succeed or not , he apologized , but I need his honesty....he was'nt trying to be mean  and he took a great deal of time for us to figure out what is going wrong and how to  fix it.........Please pray for me I have got to put ME first .  there is more but this post is  very long already I will share again in a couple of days.

I'm not at all familiar with the sleeve.... I had RNY and wasn't able to eat nearly what you're eating at less than  2months..... plus 2 glasses of wine would throw me over the edge now at 16 months post op.  I will keep you in my prayers.  Hopefully you will find what is needed to work your tool....wishing you much success!

Its a shame so many of us don't get enough detailed nutritional guidance up front.  At first I thought your surgeon was a true jack  @$$  having spoken to you that way.   I'm glad he came correct and worked through exactly where your problem areas are.  I'm all for being honest and direct, but insults are not productive.  You'll be fine now that you know what to do.

Stay motivated and committed to your success.  You will loose the weight.  Your sister's weight is not your problem.  She'll work out her issues in her own way.  Its out of your control as it should be.

You are right it is not my problem, and as your acreen name suggests this has been a wake up call I have got to be selfish in this thing!

I had the RNY so may suggestions may/may not apply to you.

1. You're still out early from your surgery. You are eating too much. Ditch the grits. One egg/one slice bacon should be more than enough.

2. You had the part of your stomach removed that produces Gherlin. Are you eating that much because you're hungry or to satisfy your protein requirements?

3. You need to exercise to kick up the weight loss.

4. Stop the wine. Sub it with water and poof...you've added 16oz and increased your current intake to 76oz. Prior to surgery, did you drink like this? If not, be warned...transfer addictions are real.

Good luck and please, please, please work on YOU.

I haven't had surgery yet, but I am planning on having the sleeve.  All I will say is check your mucsle milk for  a different type.  I have some now and it is only 140 calorie, not 220.

Good luck, keep us posted.  I should be having surgery with in the next couple months. I should be getting a call on a date this week. I will pray for you and your progress.  Stay Focus.
