Did you know...
Magnesium is a magnificent mineral and imperative for good health?
A poor diet of processed foods and a stressful lifestyle can lead to mineral deficiencies, including magnesium.
If you ARE deficient in magnesium, you may notice a wide range of symptoms.
Magnesium deficiency symptoms are varied and can include:
* Insomnia
* Anxiety, hyperactivity, restlessness
* Constipation
* Muscle spasms, twitches, soreness
* Difficulty swallowing
* Back aches
* Headaches
* Chest tightness and difficulty breathing
* Heart palpitations
* High blood pressure
* Extreme fatigue
* Osteoporosis
Any of these common symptoms may indicate that you need more magnesium in your diet, but this simple mineral can help eliminate these symptoms and enhance your health.
Because magnesium is the most versatile mineral in your body and participates in over 300 hormone reactions!
This workhorse of a mineral plays many roles in your body, including:
* Gives rigidity AND flexibility to your bones
* Increases bioavailability of calcium
* Regulates and normalizes blood pressure
* Prevents and reverses kidney stone formation
* Promotes restful sleep
* Helps prevent congestive heart failure
* Eases muscle cramps and spasms
* Lowers serum cholesterol levels and triglycerides
* Decreases insulin resistance
* Can prevent atherosclerosis and stroke
* End cluster and migraine headaches
* Enhances circulation
* Relieves fibromyalgia and chronic pain
* Treats asthma and emphysema
* Helps make proteins
* Encourages proper elimination
* Prevents osteoporosis

Everyone here is encouraged to take their vitamins and get enough of their proteins, but we are forgetting about the importance of minerals. For the longest time, it felt like my muscles were tied in a knot at the bottom of my feet and in the middle of my back. No amounts of stretching and pulling could remove them. Then I remembered reading about being deficient in magnesium and calcium. I was taking the calcium, but not the magnesium.
After 3 days of taking 400mgs per day of calcium and magnesium, the knots under my feet and in the middle of my back are gone! Thank you Jesus!
So, if any of these symptoms are on your radar, see your doctor, get your blood checked and see if you are not deficient in magnesium.
This is the first installment of my 'Did you know' series to raise awareness in the bariatric community.

And
A very helpful series. Thanks.
Mineral deficiencies is one reason many surgeons insist on particular bariatric formulas for vits. Its not just a way to have you spend more. Some of us just don't absorb the otc minerals as well.
In moving away from the recommended brand I thought of the major vit groups but I completly overlooked the minerals. If I try to duplicate the recomended formula's mineral content, it becomes far more expensive than buying the suggested bariatric formula.
