SoBlessed you are a mess too! When I first read the article...I laughed out loud when I read this line here

Elderly reformed players: According to Cooper, these men are looking for their nursemaid and bed warmer. They are seeking someone who can "take care of their broken down asses before they die."

So Blessed, Mack, Nana....y'all are so right!! I could NOT agree more. I have a confession.  I was that sista.  Yep, I really was.  I was BENT on having a man who was FAR MORE spiritually mature and discerned than I am.  I thought he had to be up in church 24/7, assisting the pastor, getting ready to bring the message, while singing on the praise team and ushering!! Just joking, but I really thought that what I needed, (especially being married to someone for so long who wasn't at all spiritual)  was a man who is in ministry, totally committed to it, in some capacity because I am.

Having a Godly man is important to me and it should be but....I got a Holy Spirit smack down ( and it hurt like heyl too)!  God let me know that I had my spiritual butt up on my shoulders and was blocking Him from bringing me all the blessings do to me.  He let me know that the most important thing is to have a man who is saved, loves God, gets on his knees and has a willing heart to grow and learn. Period. He didn't need to be Pastor, Reverend, brother, deacon, profit..blah, blah.  He just needs to be open.

Sooo......( okay don't freak y'all)...I met someone...well...it's someone I have known for a long time and we are still just talking but....I DIDN'T MEET HIM IN CHURCH...When I got out of God's way and stopped putting all of my stipulations on it, I was able to see what God was trying to bring me.

Mack...you are so right. God is everywhere.  He can bring you your mate while you takin' out the trash so, we need to stop believing that you only find a good Godly man in church.  Let God be God.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...

B, I am so happy you can see that just because you are not in Church you can be just as spiritual and in most cases a better person than a non member....everyone that *I* know that attended church regular was the BIGGEST DEVILS there were. God IS everywhere you can do the right things and be a good person by upbringing...I've hear a lot of complains people have when they get down and out and NEED the Church for financial assistance and they point them in other directions....my grandmother NEVER gave to the church and she went EVERY week...she did pay her Church dues to help keep it operating and she had the best heart of anybody I ever knew...my mother was the president of the mother board of her Church and I saw too much of where people took advantage of her.

I hate to say this...but Christianity and Baptisms was founded in the slavery era and this is all Blacks had to look forward to was worship...and as some say it was a way to keep ignorant and uneducated Blacks down was to make them believe if they prayed and went to Church this will relieve them from all evils..Many Very educated Blacks have even turned to other spiritual beliefs.

P.S. Did I hear you whisper you may have found a new love? If so congrats sweetie

Nana, I don't agree with everything you said, but I respect your feelings on it.  The fact is "church" is just a building.  The CHURCH is the body of Christ and that is who Jesus is coming back for.  People make up any organization.  Where there are people, there is all the ills of society. So to think that just because people go to church makes them better, is just stupid.  I can go to the gym everyday and sit on the bike and read a magazine, doesn't mean I'm working out.  But when you go to the gym and bust azz, sweat and make it happen...then you see results.  Same thing in church. Go to a loving, giving church filled with people who love God, love the word of God and are learning it, who are Praising and Worshiping the Lord in the beauty of His holiness....then..you got church!! When it's all about HIM and not about YOU...then you got church.

Where God is, there is love. No matter if it's a church, an office or a card board box.  When PEOPLE love each other, there's church, there's God.  Its a people issue. What you are talking about is religion. Jesus had a lot to say on it too.  He hated it as well. What he loved is his father and all of Gods children.  So do I.

Yep...you heard right girl.  I have known him for awhile. But now, it's taking on a new level, at least for me.  I have started to...open my heart...to this incredible man. I'm taking it one day at a time and letting God be God.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...
