Ayy yo,

I got a question for ya, BAF.  Did your style of clothing change once you had WLS and started losing weight?  I know...  I know...  Normally, I don't do posts quite like this but today I'm actually quite curious about this and figured I'd ask.

Yo, check it.  Back when we were all over-weight backintheday I'm sure we each made our way into a photo or two with some colorsstripes 'n solids, or an article of fad clothing that we'd pay good money these days to have burnt and buried.  I know I did.    Now that the "new you" has emerged do you find yourself taking a fashion risk when shopping for clothes or do you follow the same old style that you had back before WLS?

Holla atcha boy.

I can unequivocally say that I dress in a much more daring fashion. I am still conservative as I work in corporate Amerikkka but the hems are shorter, the heels higher and the clothes much more fitted.  I don't mind being looked at any longer. I actually quite enjoy it, lol.

Bring on the haters!

Bring 'em on I say...

Yes, I agree that  in corporate AmeriKKKa we have to dress a certain way but outside of our 9 to 5 we should be free to take a fashion risk here and there.

Yes it did!!! Not just because I was thin, but because my body shape changed as well.  I realized how much curvier I am now but I also lost so much weight on my boobs that I now have to, not just want to, dress differently. I wear far more "body conscious" clothing than I use to, but I still keep it decent and respectful (no super short skirts or flesh hanging out everywhere) that was never my style anyway, but still sexy and feminine.

Love is all there is, ever was or ever will be...

Here, here!!!

I had the same thing happen to me.  Prior to WLS I was all chest and shoulders.  Afterwards, I'm finding that my body is a lot more defined and I can't just get away with buying box-cut dress shirt or the big billowy t-shirt anymore.  I have to wear more form fitting stuff in order to not look silly.

Hecky to the yessy!!!!  I am low cut, short and snug all DAY most times - I fell in love with my hips about 2 years ago - love the way my thighs look all thick and tight in skin tight jeans.....

My legs - whoooo!  baby - lemme tell you - with the right short skirt, I drink free ALL NIGHT in whatever club I walk into...... my legs so bad, the SVP at work came to my office to talk to me - that man says 10 words to me a year.......

I wear colors ALL the time - BOLD colors.  Prints - yeppers.  And if it's eye popping, I'll put it on - I will mix and match things I never would have before, cause I never wanted the attention before. Now?  Shhyyyytttttt

Funny that you should mention hips and thighs because I see a lot of sistas struttin around on Fiday and Saturday nights stuntin' with the short skirts and legs tatted up looking like they fell on a hot iron back at the group home years ago.  What's up with all of the ink all over the legs on some of these sistas, Yo.

ummm - you DO know I have a tatt on my right leg....... pretty big one - not some bullshyt shop job, but a custom art piece done by a biker........

what you got against ink????  *note* none of my tatts are visible when I am dressed......

Nope.  I didn't know that.  But I'll make a note of it.

I think you see my point though.  I'm not against ink at all.  Some of it is great and very nicely done.  Then again...  some of that stuff looks like they just got it done with a sharp metal hanger and some Bic pen ink.  In essence, if it's fly and done nicely; let it show.  If your cousin did it under the street light while y'all were drinkin 40s on the stoop then switch to a Laura Ingall's skirt for walking around in public.
