I did it - I started wearing a natural.  *pause for effect*

I gave up the relaxer and decided not stop fighting the ****a Kente curl that will not be laid to rest on my dayum head..... I must say - I like the new look - and not having to fry up a curl every morning is relaxing...... LOL!!!

Anyone else wear this?  I need ideas/recommendations on products to use - I wanna make sure I don't look 'crispy' or nappy.......

I'm wearing a short fro and loving it!   I like Cream of Nature shampoo.  It detangles, keeps it soft and curly and it smells sweet.  I moisturize with whatever skin lotion I'm using.  I did try several different hair care products, but to me, the lotion worked better.

All I'm going to say is that my texture has changed and I'm going nuts trying to tame this beast !!!! lol My pcp said that my hair and skin is changing because of my surgery and the issues I've been dealing with lately. I use virgin coconut oil, jojoba oil, safflower oil, tea tree oil and vitamin e oil mixed together. When I have raw shea butter I use that too. I don't use any shampoo with sulphates so I either conditioner wash or use Creme of  Nature.

You can find lots of things on youtube and naturallycurly.com. My hair is so gray and thin now (well thin for me) that I was going to get it cut off but now I have a couple of alopecia spots that are smooth and bald. They are not that big but they are there. Dr. Oz says that lavendar oil stimulates hair growth, just rub it on the scalp. Last time I had this, I had to get cortisone shots in my scalp.

Good luck, I hate my hair right now and I've been natural for over 14 yrs. My hair looks very dry and frizzy. I'm taking flaxseed oil softgels and omega 3.

I try to do the natural every summer, but I usually cave to the 'creamy crack'. This time I'm doing braids till I can chop off all my realxed ends.

I'm not sure what your natural texture is, but Sally Beauty Supply has a line called Noodle Head that works really well to keep the curly look going. I also sometimes will use Garnier Fructris-basically I love the way it smaells.

Be sure to conditioner only wash evrey other washing to prevent your hair from drying out.

Welcome to nappy, I love it here, lol.  I like garnier fructice products.  Which line depends on the look of the day.  Curl and shine for a thicker tighter kink or smooth and shine for a looser look.  I condition wash most days, shampoo once a week and use leave in conditioner.  I bet this looks amazing on you.
