To a very special person on BAF!!! A Big Thank You!

I was debating on whether to post because I know this person did not help my mom and I for any type of recognition. She helped us out of the kindness of her heart. Shes a very special lady so the last thing I would want to do is embarrass her BUT I feel compelled to let you all know.  She is just one example of the very special family that we have here on BAF.  The internet had a way of bringing people together who might have not otherwise crossed paths.  Many  of you know that I lost both of my sisters. One to a brain tumor at 2 years old and the other had been missing for 25 years.  My mom recently celebrated a birthday in June and I wanted to do something really special for her.  

Ms. Valena helped me bring some joy and sunshine into my mom's life.  My mom suffers from depression...understandably so with so much grief but she was uplifted up when I was able to show her a beautiful photo of my younger sister's grave site with a beautiful array of flowers only befitting a little angel. Valena helped make that happen.  She took time out of her busy schedule to go to my sister's grave , not once but at least twice, to give it some attention and place a special arrangement of flowers that was created by her special friend who also lost a child. She then took and sent us the wonderful photos.   

You see....only through the internet and some online discussions...did I realize that Ms. Valena lived in the town that we lived nearly 35 years ago. My sister passed away and was buried there.  Ms. Valena extended herself after finding out this information and I feel blessed that she did...because it made a difference to my mom and I.  We live too far away to visit or care for my sister's site.  Like anyone that passes on...the person stays in your hearts and mind.

So thank you Valena...you are a Godsend!!! and also a thank you to all on BAF! Words can never express the way I feel about the support you have given me! You all are the best!!!

I also want to let you all know that my sister and I will be profiled in a book  called, " The Last Place You'd Look: True Stories of Missing Persons and the People Who Look for Them by Carole Moore.  I will let you all know when it is published....any press can only move us in the right direction to getting some answers.

That was very uplifting. I cried reading it, having lost my sister in March. I will say special prayers for your family and send God a big thank you for people like Valena.

Its so true Cookie...any act of kindness can go a long way in making someone's day or even helping someone to heal. As always, I plan to pay it forward.
